Can you sing ?

 bless you. the funeral was very hard for me. it was for the dad of one of my mom's friends, and i was out of view of the mourners, but hearing them cry broke my heart, especially since i knew the family so well. not an experience i care to repeat, but i would do it again for someone i was close to.

Oh man I would have loved to have been out of view. I was up in front of the congregation front and center.

I LOVE being in front of everyone at karaoke, I'm not bothered by it at all on Sunday mornings or any kind of "performing". But, when people are so sad and crying, it just breaks my heart :sad1:. I have to try to find some spot to focus on somewhere in the room so I don't see them crying or else I'll start crying too.

My high school chorus director actually suggested that I lip sync instead of actually singing.:rotfl::rotfl: I don't know why he didn't just kick me out of chorus:confused3

I can carry a tune but I am no professional. My Dad however had an amzing voice and I miss hearing him sing.

I can carry a tune and read music, so have been in many chorus and choirs, but not the calibre of having a solo part.

My parrots love it when I sing the "tiki room" song to them tho' ;)

Yes I can and I must say, I am pretty darn good at it too! I have a degree in Musical Theatre and toured with a broadway touring company for almost 6 years in my 20's. I got burn-out being on the road and decided to take a break when I was about 28. I then decided to have a child and haven't returned to the stage since (almost 9 years now). I do sing at weddings, funerals, birthday parties, etc. And my DD9 gets to hear me everynight when I sing her to sleep. She thinks I am the best singer in the world and that is more special to me than anything I ever did on stage.

I can, I had singing lessons when I was younger and when doing my music degree. I am in a local musical theatre group so sing on stage quite often. I wish my voice had a wider range though, I would love to be able to sing more pop/rock type songs instead of the more Broadway musical theatre style that I can sing.

I sang all through middle and high school and then went to college on a music scholarship. I am better at country music than anything else but I really don't sing much anymore unless it's karaoke. :goodvibes

Nope. They actually waved my music requirement in high school because the choir wouldn't have me, and whatever the alternative was conflicted with physics.

I still sing - but only at home or in the car, where nobody but family can hear me.

No, and it's one thing I really regret not being able to do. I don't care that I'm not a genius, beautiful, etc. But every time we go to a Broadway musical I feel a longing, LOL. In my next life I hope to be reincarnated as a great singer!

Luckily, our kids' inherited their father's ability to sing. He was lead singer for his garage band back in the 70's and 80's. He thinks he is Mick Jagger ;).

DD sang in high school choir and was in the musicals.

DS has been twice selected, by audition, to the regional ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) Honor Choir.

sorry, couldn't resist!

Yes. I've been singing on a church platform since I was a young girl...then eventually became a music/choir director for both children, adults, and praise teams.

I would love to have a good voice, but I cant hold a note to save my life

No, I cannot sing :rolleyes1, but at least I know it! I feel just terrible for some of these people that audition for American Idol and are seriously surprised that the judges tell them they suck. Really? Have people lied to you all your life?

I have a nice voice, but IMO everyone should sing no matter what they sound like. I'm not talking American Idol here, I mean singing for your own enjoyment is just so uplifting. My DH has a gorgeous speaking voice, but a bit of a tin ear. I still loved it when he sang "you are my sunshine" to the girls when he was rocking them to sleep. Off key and beautiful!!! I'm glad he wasn't embarrassed in front of me. I would have hated to miss that.

Yes, I'm decently good. I was in the madrigal choir and high school and did all of the musicals. I was in an opera my freshman year of college, but really hated "theater" people so I dropped out of that scene. I really miss performing and singing outside of the car/shower, so once we settle on a church, I'd like to join a choir.

LOL, I know about IOM's infatuation with high heels, his obsession with infidelity, and his crush on Lady Gaga, but I didn't know he is also a Glimmer Twin!
