Can you settle an argument for me...on which water ride do you get the wettest?

Totally agree. On Popeye, it depends on where you sit. You will get wet on both rides no matter what. :upsidedow

I'm gonna buck the trend and say Dudley. I've rode Popeye lots of times and got wet lots of times but the past 3 times the only thing that got wet was my shorts my the wet seat. I don't know how that happened 3 times in a row but to see the look on everyones face when I got off dry was hilarious. I've never got off Dudley dry ever

And would say from my experiences, Popeye was a lot wetter, with water coming at you from everywhere. Being that it was 90 degrees, the ride was very enjoyable, I even rode 3 times in a row on Sunday afternoon and never waited more than 5 minutes. :cool1::thumbsup2:banana::yay:

However, Dudley has the potential to be very wet, especially if someone is manning the water cannons. In fact, in the three times I rode it, the second drop (there are four if I remember right, aging, don't you know) was the wettest as water rebounded from the side and poured over the side of the log. This succeeded in soaking my left leg and foot every time. The final splash for me was not that wet, however, I never got the front seat, I was always in the fourth or fifth seat.

If you wear a rain poncho, you "might" stay sort of dry, depending on random chance of where you are sitting when the waves come overboard. :)

Also wanted to add: Popeye at IA is the best designed, funnest "river rapids" ride I've ever been on. I don't even go on the one at Disney Animal Kingdom anymore as it is so dissapointing in comparison.

I think Kali River Rapids is lame and I've never been on Popeye's (but only 23 more days until we do ) Our local amusement park has a river ride that is as good as Kali!

Popeys gets my vote ~ absolutely love it!

Totally agree - not even a close competition.

As the others have been saying, you'll get soaked on Popeye's.

BIL was in front row on Dudley's. He was wearing a poncho, but it flew up in his face. Needless to say, that detracted from the fun for him. If you're wearing a poncho, try to keep it tucked under you.

I've gotten soaked on both....I was pretty dry last time I went on Popeyes, however, I was the only dry one on the ride. I was in the front for Dudleys and got DRENCHED, so I think it just depends on where you sit. However, if I had to pick one, it would be Popeyes!
The $0.25 water cannons at the end of Dudley defeat any hopes of being in a "less wet seat" :upsidedow

Indeed, the second drop tends to be wetter than the last drop. But that's all part of the fun!

Also, I've been on the Kali Rapids at AK. I got more wet on that ride than I'd ever gotten on Popeye or Dudley!!!!!!

It was raining at the time, so my friend and I got drenched. :upsidedow

Dudley Do or Popeye's? My DH and I think Popeye's but my nephews say Dudley Do. If yesterday were an indication, I would be right - but I wanted to ask the experts. Generally speaking, on which ride do you get wettest?

THANKS!!!

So what did you win by picking Popeye's??:confused3

Me and my boyfriend got soaked on Popeye last year, and we were wearing rain ponchos!!
A couple looked at us extremelly wet even with the ponchos and gave up riding it!!

yep, its Popeye....

Popeye! I never felt so wet in my life after getting off that thing.

I vote Popeye also -- especially when the raft goes up the conveyer belt into the 'wash' area, and the water drenches the entire raft :)

Bluto's Barges without a doubt. It's the wettest I've ever been outside of a waterpark. I was actually wringing my t-shirt out afterward.

I brought rain ponchos then remembered someone on this board saying that the best thing to do was wear your swimsuit and stow your clothes. We looked silly but not as silly as the folks who thought they were going to be able to keep all that water out with rain ponchos. Rain ponchos work on Popeye the way they work in a swimming pool -- they don't.

Popeye for sure. But Tanganyika Tidal Wave at Busch Gardens is even wetter!
