We are going soon and are staying in a balcony room on the starboard side on deck 8 towards the back area. I read one report that says they saw the fireworks really well from this area. Wanted to see if anyone else thought this was true? Thanks:goodvibes

From everything I have read they do not allow you to be on the verandah's during the fireworks. I believe I read that they actually deliver a note to all verandah rooms , or have some kind of notice stating you are not allowed on the verandah's during the fireworks. I assume this is a safety issue.

Don't mean to ruin your idea! Just passing on what I've been told. And if I am incorrect someone feel free to correct me!

I believe you're correct. That said, someone will post that they did it. ;)

Does that apply to all four ships, and/or is it a recent change? We've sailed on the Magic twice, and the Wonder twice, and have never received a notice.

I believe the note is only sent/given to those on the side of the ship where the fireworks will be shot off. We didn't get one in 2010, but we were on the opposite side of the ship.

We were starboard deck 10 on the Fantasy in June and got a note. Something about falling debris and safety issues. FWIW I stepped out on the balcony for a second to see if I could see the fireworks and couldn't.

We didn't get a notice in May (port side verandah). We had been in Palo and were sound asleep by the time the fireworks went off so I have no idea if we could have seen them or not.

I'm such a party animal!

Probably not, since the fireworks shoot toward the starboard side.

yes, it applies to all the ships and depends on how far aft your cabin is on the starboard sign if you get the notice or not. This policy has been around for a few years.

If you are on the starboard side and you don't get a letter can anybody tell me if you can see the fireworks from deck 10 in the mid-front of the ship thanks

We were starboard side and far forward in an extended verandah cabin on the Dream, I never got a letter about the fireworks and as a result I knew nothing of this policy. So I enjoyed them from my verandah with some invited friends. It was an excellent view.

Wow, I never even knew this policy existed !! Then again, wife always wants to stay on port side !! Is there a good place to see fireworks from an indoor area aboard the fantasy ?? 6 yr old DD hates the loud noises they make but loves the colors ??

You will most likely get a letter. We were in 10534 which is between the mid and fwd elevators. Also as I said above I could not see the fireworks anyway, and I think this was due to the overhang from deck 11.

DS13 still plugs his ears to avoid the sound of fireworks in the parks or anywhere EXCEPT the ship. It just doesn't seem to get as loud onboard. I am guessing that is because there isn't anything for the soundwaves to bounce off of.

We didn't get a note on The Dream in June. Watched from our veranda.

Got a tip from the sommelier in Remy: stand with the wind at your back and that's where you will see the fireworks. He was right!

We didnt get a note on our Magic cruise to Canada last month. It was freezing and we had seen the pirate show several other times so we did watch from our balcony while wrapped in blankets.

:thumbsup2 NJ is so flat so we were amazed when we spent July 4 in the Shenandoah Valley area of VA with mountains all around us. Each boom echoed back over and over so you really could hear & feel it. We all loved it. popcorn::
