can you save/bank/borrow points for a trip in three years

can points be used in three years, to save enough points to use for a three year trip. say you buy 160 points, can you save these for 3 years to make it 480.00, meaning go on vacation every 3 years?

You would need to Bank, Borrow and Travel in order to use 3 years worth of points.

Example is using 2008 Points:

Bank 160 into 2009

Borrow from 2010

Travel at the end of your 2009 UY using Banked and Borrowed

Connected to:

Travel at the beginning of 2010 UY using 2011 points

so if I want to travel in the summer, but only every 3 years, which use year should I buy and how would it go for banking and borrowing.

Say you have a June use year and want to travel in August 2009.

You can bank the June 2008 points to June 2009. Then you borrow the June 2010 points in to June 2009, giving you three years worth of points to use June 1, 2009, to May 31, 2010. No points for 2010 (as you borrowed all of those)

Now bank the June 2011 point to June 2012, and borrow June 2013, giving you another 3 years worth of points to use between June 2012 and May 2013. Repeat the cycle for big trips every 3 years.

in the first senerio are you saying you can travel until may 2010, so you can go in 2010 even though you borrowed them earlier?

I have a June use year. We are currently in the June 2007 use year, which started June 1, 2007, and ends May 31, 2008. If I borrowed points from the use year that begins June 1, 2008, I would have to use those points for stays up to and including the night of, May 31, 2008.

If you borrow points from a June 1, 2010, use year, they would go into a June 1, 2009, use year, and have to used for stays upto and including the night of May 31, 2010.

You can only bank from one past year or borrow from one future year at any give time to give you three years worth of points. You are not permitted to bank borrow from two consecutive years.
