Can you return a rental car early without a penalty

We will be renting a car for a few days with Alamo, we have a $15 off coupon for 3 days. If we take it back early will they still honor the coupon?

Would taking it back early mean that it would be less than three days? If so, they are very unlikely to honour it since you don't qualify for it.

I had to return my weekly rental after only 2 days and I was charged an additional charge. Had to cut vacation short as my dog could not handle being boarded.

Often times returning it any more than a couple hours early results in additional fees. It is apart of the agreement you sign when renting.

In your case, with a 3 day coupon, it sounds like it might affect the price. In other cases, where I have had a car for longer, I have been able to return as early as the night before with no penalty. Really depends on the type of rental, if the price is for a number of days or a week, etc.

not sure about the coupon price but I returned a car 10 day early- I had rented it for 2 months and didn't need those last 10 days so brought it back early. I didn't get a penalty or anything but I still paid for the whole 2 month rental which I had figured I would anyway since I prepaid it and got a great rate- less than 2,000 for a minivan for 2 months (I put 11,000 miles on that van in less than 2 months!)
