Can you resolve our "Skittles" debate?

I just mentioned Skittles in another post and it reminded me...

My son LOVES Skittles, as in those little round candies in the red package? They are sweet but very addictive, so over the years, my husband and I have each had our share of handfuls now and then.

So tonight we were having some Skittles...my husband says "Hey, could you pass me a brown Skittle?"

"Brown? Oh, mean the purple ones?"

Seems he has always thought these ones were brown, while I have always thought they were purple! So...who can tell me...are those dark coloured Skittles in there brown or dark purple?

If anyone has a package handy perhaps it is clear on there? I'd appreciate it!

Sorry for the fluff but I am truly curious now!

Okay Dixie, apparently he is NOT colourblind! He says he sees your font is in purple! LOL. However, he insists the Skittles are clearly brown.

I asked him that too..."If it is brown, then what FLAVOUR is it???" First, he said it didn't have a flavour, it is just brown. Then he says it must be chocolate.

But ginna, thank you...that is so cool...I never thought of a Skittles website. They are without a doubt purple...you were all right.

Although, in my husband's defence they really do not look at all like the shade of purple they show on that site!

Ok, I have a memory here. Many years ago (about 15) when I 1st meet hubby we were in a summer camp in Michigans U.P. It was rather cold (as it can be in Michigan) and we were all warming up in a car. Well, my older brother had taught me a very cool thing. (or at least we thought so back then) If you eat all the same color of a Skittle and then spit, you could spit that color.

So we kept opening the door and "spitting" that color. All over the car next to us. Did I mention we were 18, oh to be young again.........

And we weren't even drinking, just too much sugar and a tad bored!

It does work. I wouldn't tell DD that for the world. Bad enought I taught her to "blow straw wrappers". Some things you should find out on your own!
