Can you request specific servers?

Okay, we are cruising in 10 days and I wanted to know if you can request certain servers?

On our 1st Disney cruise (a 4 day cruise on the Wonder), we had very nice servers, but they were very difficult to understand and not really outgoing. I see so many people who really enjoy their servers, and I would like to spend my week with people like that!

Can I ask the concierge for specific servers, and if so, do you have any suggestions? We are sailing on the Magic on the 1/6 Eastern Cruise.

As always, thanks for any help!

Yes you can, but you should do so before your cruise - preferably a week in advance at least (before all the cruise data is downloaded to the ship).

You can also go to Rockin' Bar D once you board and request a change in your dining assignment.

I've got 10 days! Time enough, but do you know of anyone I should request?

I'd like suggestions for the Magic too please.

The servers on our first cruise were horrible--in your face and trying WAY too hard in an annoying way. They chased us down at lunch and demanded why we weren't at dinner the night before. My husband and I had decided to dine at a cafe on the beach on St. Maarten instead of on the ship as our son was enjoying himself in the kids club. Then my son wanted to try room service one night, so we missed another dinner. The next time we showed up in the dining room we were practically accosted. It was very uncomfortable. Maybe they were worried about their tip??! We still tipped them the customary amount, but I must say it hurt--they were really annoying. :worried:

I've read so many nice reviews of other servers on these boards and I'd like to have a nice experience with our servers this time around. I don't want to feel like hiding when I walk by the dining rooms! All suggestions are appreciated!

I don't know who's working on the Magic right now, but we loved Adrian as our head server and Oka as our server (can't remember our Assist Server's name off the top of my head).

If Roberto from Peru is on the ship, we would request him. He was our server during our very first cruise, he was also our server during our May 2006 cruise, but when we sailed in August 2006 he was on his vacation.

In August we had Prageeth from India and Younes from Spain as our server and asst. server, they also took excellent care of us. I'm not sure if Prageeth is still part of the serving team as I know he was in training to become part of the Guest Services team. Below, I have added a photo of Prageeth and Younes.

We had Evandro and Jo Jo---they were awesome and made sure my son had the time of his life (as dinner goes)...I am going to try and see if they are still on the ship so we can request them for our June trip!!! :thumbsup2

Our server was Maria from Hungary and our assistant server was Claudia from Chile when we cruised 2 weeks ago. However, it was Maria's last cruise as she was resigning. But we will most definately request Claudia if we cruise the Magic again. She was absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! Our kids 10 and 12 still talk about her and miss her very much. She would sit down and talk with the kids and teach them things like how to fold the napkins, etc. We all loved her.

We adored our servers Adrian from the UK and Aditya (A-dit-ee-ay)from India. I don't know if Aditya will still be there but I know Adrian will be. Here is a picture of the two of them.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to call Disney tomorrow and give them the list of names you gave me and ask them to set me up!

Thanks for all your suggestions!;)

Hi! We were on the 10/21 Magic and loved our servers: Stipe ("Stee-pay") from Croatia and Putu from Indonesia. DD5 continues to have a sweet crush on Putu. I ordered a Disney wall frame with 6 picture openings - how I thought I could adequately display a 7 night cruise with 12 of us in 6 pictures I'm not sure! :confused3 - but anyway, one of the 6 pictures had to include our servers, they were THAT important and special to our week. It seems that most people are pleased with their servers and like most things in life, you get out of the experience what you put into it. Enjoy your cruise, with I could go with you! :cheer2:

We had them also (Nov 11 -18, 2006) and they were FANTASTIC!! :)

I called DCL today and asked for Adrian, Aditya, or Claudia! DCL were very nice and said that if they were still on the ship, they would make every effort to assign us to them!

Thank you so much for your advice!

Just want to add one more to your list. We sailed last June and Wayan (from Indonesia) was our server. He was excellent and one of two people who had been with the Wonder since it's first sailing. I believe the other person was the Head Waiter (I think his name was Pierre but I'm not sure). Anyway, he was knowledgeable, friendly and had an ongoing gag with our youngest stealing her sunglasses! She thought she was a movie star on the cruise --- loved dressing up for dinner and often donned her shades. We all talk about Wayan at least once a week! Have a great cruise!

Sounds like they were really nice with you on the phone. The usual response is that they can't guarantee placement with particular servers, but they will put in the request and try. If you don't get the assignment you want (or just to be sure that you did), you can go to "dining changes" after you board...or just ask the concierge to check.

We had Mahenda (Manny) and Simon from the Philippines. They were terrific and made sure we ate lunch on Castaway Cay with them My GS is sure they will be there when we cruise again December 29, 2007. Anybody who recently cruised know if they are still on the ship?

:cheer2: :cheer2:
