Can you rent DP?

I talked to my guide today about doing an add on. She said I would get the matching DP but I know we can't use them. Would it be possible to rent those? Thanks

But they could certainly rent it in someone else's name just as if they were renting a room on points for another couple going with them, for example. That was my logic anyway.
