Can you remember the very first Vinyl/CD/Tape...

The first 45 I bought was "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" by Bette Midler. I played it over and over and over.......
Now the first Album that I ever bought was Queens Night at the Opera. I still have that album, but I don't have anything to play it on.

I think I bought 45s before I actually bought regular 33 1/3s. I remember getting my first "stereo" and I use the term lightly given what I've got today--but the first 45 I bought was "Baby I'm a Want You". . .Bread.

The first record I ever received was a gift--actually--The Monkees, "Last Train to Clarksville". I, personally bought, Tommy Roe, "Twelve In A Roe". I still have that one, (along with tons of others) but don't know what happened to The Monkees--(I think I 86ed it out of embarassment and regret it now)--still play them frequently too! Do you know how funny people look at you when you ask to purchase a turntable? ;)

I didn't really purchase movies before children, so when I did begin--it was all Disney! I don't remember which was first but most likely Bambi.

In the 8 track days, it was The Grass Roots, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Three Dog Night, The Guess Who. . .many nights were spent cruisin' to hits from an 8 track player in a 1964 Buick Special that was souped to the max! Fond memories. . .

CD-kicking and screaming--Fleetwood Mac. I've grown to accept the change and bought many more since. :D

45 RPM records - that's what they were called, thanks for the reminder folks!;)

The first single (45) that I actually bought on my own was "Band on the Run" by Paul McCartney and Wings (1973).

The first album (33) that I saved up to buy was "John Denver's Greatest Hits" (1973-74)

Man, am I ever old...

45''-- Ebony and Ivory... yes, I will be th first to admit I actually purchased that item! Full Length album, I think it was a Rick Springfield album...

CD-- Sinead O Connor/Lion adn the Cobra/ Tracy Chapman/self titled/Inxs/Kick..

Cassette--Hmm... so many to choose from

Where's the 8 track category?

My first 8 track was a K-tel collection of early 80's new wave hits.. it had Oingo Boingo, Kim Wilde, Go Go's, Haircut 100, Sparks, and for some very odd reason, Rick James

Hmm...

The first cassette singles that i ever remember having, and probably bought, are:

Kris Kross "Jump"
Guns N Roses "November Rain"
"Dreamlover" Mariah Carey"

And i still have them all

The first 45 I bought from my own money was The Wind Cries Mary by Jimi Hendrix and the first vinyl album was Waiting For The Sun by The Doors (both 1967).

The last vinyl album I bought was New York by Lou Reed (check out The Last Great American Whale - it's a brilliant song).

I *think* the first vinyl 45 I bought *myself* was "Wild World" by Cat Stevens.

And I'm pretty sure the first album was "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce.

Had recieved many others before that as gifts though.

First LP was This One's For You by Barry Manilow (no surprise there, really) :)

First 45 was "Me and Bobby McGee" by Janis Joplin.

I can't remember LP, cassette or CD. I think the first LP was Carly Simon's "Anticipation", but I can't be sure. :)

I never bought an 8 track!

The first record I bought myself was a 45, it was a Bobby Sherman record but I don't remember which song it was. I still have all of my Partridge Family albums.
Kim

Blue Oyster Cult - Agents of Fortune.

But I have mellowed considerably since then!! LOL

Have a Disney Day!

My first 45 was - Boogie Nights

My First 33 was AC/DC Back in Black

My first casset was Van Halen Diver Down

Man, I can't believe I remember all that and I can't remember my first CD. What's up with that?

First 45 I bought was "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies. First album I bought was Beatles' "Let It Be". Still have them both.:D

First vinyl album: Saturday Night Fever soundtrack

First cassette: AC/DC's Back in Black

First CD: New Kids on the Block   :( What WAS I thinking???????

First VHS: ???? Getting old -- mind is starting to go. I think it was Pretty Woman.

First DVD: Twister

Quite a range here, uh????? LOL

I remember buying a Shaun Cassidy album when I was 8. It was such a big deal to me. I used my own money and took it up to the cash register by myself.:D I probably still have it in my mom's basement somewhere.

First CD was by the B-52's.:D

First VHS purchases were "Top Gun" and Duran Duran videos.:D

ooo, I didn't read all the questions.
I know for a fact that the first and ONLY DVD I have ever bought is "Oceans Eleven".

:::hopes to buy more:::

Never bought an 8-tracK (DH has enough for both of us, oy)
I cannot remember my first cassette tape bought.
First VHS tape...can't remember that either.

Can't remember the first 45 I bought:confused: But I think they cost around 65 cents!! First album I bought was "Help" (Beatles) with my babysitting money. My brother (2 years older) bought "Travelin' Man" by Ricky Nelson as his first. "Hello Marylou" was the flip side!

The first LP I ever has was "Portrait of Donny" when I was 11 years old (I am now 40!!) I still think he is lovely, such a nice person and I still have the record. I bought the record 6 months before I had a record player and I used to look at the cover each night!!

The very first 45 I bought was by Jan & Dean. It was Dead's Man Curve. The first LP I bought was Mr. Spock sings Sounds from Space or something like that. I wonder it that would be worth anything at some of these Trekkie conventions. It is at least 35 years old, if not older!
