Hi, I am new to this board, and was wondering, if I got to know someone through the board who would be taking the same cruise as me, could we request to dine together, rather than with strangers? I have been on the Disney cruise 2 years ago, and I was glad we had the same party for the whole cruise, it saved us from having to meet different people every night, but I and my husband are on the shy-at-first side, and don't enjoy meeting new people. It is awkward for us. So, I thought if I got to know someone from this board over the next year, that could be something we could do.

Yes!!! Most definately. It is very simple...all you have to do is call DCL and say you want both reservations linked for dining. This will ensure that you both are seated at the same table. Either party can make the call but the caller must have both reservation numbers to give to DCL. We link our ressies for dining all the time with others.

Once you get your KTTW card at port check-in, just check it see that you both have the same table #. If for some reason you do not, go to the dining changes tables (list in the Navigator) once onboard and request the change.

P.S. WELCOME TO THE DIS BOARD!!! You will find tons of fantastic info. Just ask any question that you may have....there are no such things as silly or stupid questions. Everyone wants to make their cruise the best possible, so ask away!!!

When you call DCL to request your seating arrangement with another family you willl have to have their cruise reservation number and their last name to connect your reservation together.
We have done this a few times on our past cruises.

we had no problems getting our party of 13 seated together. Our TA contacted DCL and requested our diner seating be 'linked'. We did get 2 different tables, however our wonderful serving staff joined the tables together so we all sat together in what appeared to be 1 large table. Yes, this was extra work for them...so, we kept this in mind when we filled out our tip envelope.

Even if you don't have someone in mind to sit at your table...normally, your 'dining mates' are the same throughout the whole cruise (hopefully someone will correct me if you've had other experiences). Also, it has 'appeared to me' that Disney attempts to put 'like groups' together...i.e., one family with another - persons without children - and so on. When we went without our children...we were seated with another couple...traveling without their kids. I am sure this could have been 'luck of the draw'...or planned 'Disney magic'.

I absolutely love being seated with someone I've met on the DIS Board - although I've made friends with other dining couples, it's just so much more fun to already "know" the person(s)!!!

Same here the couple sailing with us just gave our reservation number to their TA and we all sat at one table. They also went out of their way to try and keep our staterooms close.
