I am not looking for a google recipe I am looking for something tried & true that is easy to make and that you love. I have tried a few allrecipes baked ziti recipes, they were all ok.

Thanks!

I use this as a guide. Most of the time I use riciotta cheese instead of the sour cream and cottage cheese. I also add some spice to the cheese and an egg (salt, pepper, garlic, parsley, nutmeg).

I also use a homemade marinara which is: marzano tomatoes (crushed with juice), lots of garlic, fresh basil, salt and crushed red pepper made with good olive oil. So easy!

1 box ziti, homemade tomato sauce, ricotta cheese and shredded mozzerella. Mix together. On top add sliced mozzerella and bake uncovered at 350 for about 30-45 minutes.
Yum!

The secret is in your sauce. If you make a nice chucky meat sauce your Ziti will taste better. Sauce should be cooked for 3 hours on a very low flame and if you burn it do not stir it transfer it to another pot otherwise your whole meal will taste burnt. Always mix together the ricotta cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese and an egg or two. Layer the bottom of your dish with sauce, put in the ziti, sauce and mix in the ricotta mixture. Finish the top with some sauce and mozzarella cheese. Yummy!

Do you cook your ziti first?

Yes! And I can't believe there is a recipe calling for sour cream and cottage cheese! :scared1:

I know, right? I have tried the sour cream (not the cottage cheese) and it does come out good (I can't believe I am a Jersey Italian saying that)...but I did add all of the spices and egg that I listed above. I do prefer riciotta.

OP, I have made the lasagna from Tutto Italia and it is excellent. It is very time consuming but will impress! I believe if you google it, you will find the recipe. If you want it, let me know.
