Can you pay to upgrade if staying on rented points?

We're staying on rented points at Aulani. The owner I worked with did not have enough points left for us to upgrade to a better view. Can we inquire at check-in about paying extra for an upgrade if one is available? Or are we out of luck since we're staying on points? Thanks all!

No. And, if they do move you, they will deduct additional points out of the owner's account, borrowing if necessary.
