Can You Pay For An Extra Person On Dme?

To make a long story short. I am booked at Pop Sept 9-16. My sister is also going with her family but the are staying at a condo offsite. Because I have 5 in my family and Pop only will let you have 4, one of my kids is going to sleep in the condo with their aunt. Problem is that their flight is the day before ours, so we would all just like to meet at one of the parks after we arive. Since only 4 of us are booked at Pop is there anyway that we can pay extra for one more seat on DME? If any of you could answer I would appreciate it. If not does someone posibly know who I should call.

I would call DME back. I don't think they can tell whether or not you have made arrangements for your son to stay with you at your WDW resort or offsite. Add your son's name to the reservation with DME.

Your fall back position is going to have to be someone taking Mears to S/D or SoG and then meeting you at a theme park. If you call now they only way you can reserve DME is by adding your son to your hotel reservation which can't be done. About a week before you go you can call the 800 # for DME and see if they can send you an extra ticket. Otherwise I'd just plan on being nice to the CM and driver. I think they may be receptive to a last minute change in plans or confusion.

Someone already posted saying you can't pay for DME and Mears is no longer running shuttle bus service to Disney resorts.

The cynic in me suspects your kid will be a 5th guest in POP for at least part of your stay. Although not intended, DME may help enforce occupancy rules.

I would try everything thing Lewisc suggested.

I ran into the same problem as well for my trip at the end of Sept. I called Disney to have a person added to my reservation for 1 night of the 4 night reservation and they couldn't do that. So then I called Mears to see if I could pay the $20 for the Mears shuttle and they told me that as long as the guest is staying on Disney property, they should be able to take DME for free. It really came down to the only option being to take a cab for $60 to the hotel. We weren't willing to do that. Hopefully DME will be receptive to problems like this and let your son take DME with you!

I just tried to do this too and got a no way no how answer. I actually had to book another room so my DD's could take the ME back to the airport. My MIL leaves the day before us and they are staying in her room til then. Big PIA!!

Back to my post. Take Mears to S/D or SoG then Disney bus to theme park. Mears no longer runs a shuttle to Disney resorts.

Suggestion, wait until you get to MCO and see if you can talk a driver or CM into accommodating your last minute guest. If the DME people say no walk over to the Mears desk and first try to book a shuttle to POP. It doesn't exist but Mears might have some type of arrangement to use DME to move guests.

NO GUARANTEE but if you're nice someone may be willing to bend a rule. The ME drivers are complaining about no tips. Maybe they can accept a tip in lieu of a voucher?

The easiest, but not cheapest, solution is to just book a towncar. You get your grocery stop, less stress and you know you'll all travel together.
