Can you order from the kids menu for a senior citizen?

Just curious, my father eats very lightly, like cereal for lunch lightly. He ALWAYS takes half of his food home when we eat out. Do you think he will be able to order off the kids menu?

Thanks! Happy planning! :goodvibes

Perhaps at a CS restaurant, but I don't think that they will let you at a TS restaurant.

I've often wished I could order from the kids menu, since I find that the adult portions are more than I care to eat. Usually menus state for kids age xx or under, or something similar. Don't they?

Anyone have experience with doing this at WDW?

If you are not on a dining plan you should be able to order what you like. Usually I will order appetizers as an entree rather than a kids meal if I'm not really hungry. Kids meals aren't that great at Disney (at least to me.)

For Quick Service I order, and pay for, what I want.

There are many people who have health conditions that preclude them from eating full portions. When I took a friend to Disney who has gastric bypass she had no problems with the kids menu when she said she had a medical condition and didn't eat full portions. Had a server who didn't want to do it in one location, and I requested to speak with a manager. My friend got her kids meal... and took her three bites and was done.

The kids meals are, in general, pretty disappointing---even for kids. You probably *will* be able to order them, and probably *won't* be given any grief for doing it, but do you really want to? I wouldn't.

At TS locations, consider ordering an appetizer rather than an entree. That's a nice light meal that actually tastes pretty good. At CS locations, order simply---even though the menu board lists entrees with sides, you can ask to have the side left off and save a few bucks along the way. We often get only 2-3 orders of fries between the four of us, for example, and that's plenty.

OP, are you on the dining plan?

If you are, yes, you can order off the kids' menu, but you will still be charged for your adult priced TS credit.

If you are on the regular dining plan, you cannot order an appetizer, which would definitely be a better choice for a light meal, instead a constant diet of mac 'n cheese and chicken nuggets. The appetizer menus almost always have a soup choice as well as a salad, in addition to other delicious adult-type fare.

If you are not on the dining plan, there are no rules. Order what you like.

Enjoy your vacation!

I dont think so you will have to ask your server when u sit down it specifically states on the menu 3-9 yrs old. But u never know

I have ordered a children's meal for myself at a CS and didn't have a problem, both DDP and non-DDP. I have never tried at a TS.

Thanks everyone! Specifically, it is only for one meal at The Plaza, before MNSSHP. We will be eating at Food & Wine Festival otherwise.

They do not have appetizers, except for soup or salad. The kids menu has a turkey sandwich or cheeseburger that he might like before delving into the variety at F&W. Just being aware of my options.

Thanks again & Happy planning!! :goodvibes
