This is not for me, but for my very best friend.

She's going through a rough spot, she's one of the best Mom's you'd ever want to meet, let alone a wonderful person.

Her ex-abusive husband can not handle that she has put her life together and is doing great. After 5 years she was about to buy her own home, has a great job and a wonderful son. She recently meet a great man (yes they do exsist).

The problem come into the ex-abuser, he now is taking her to court to get full custody of their son. He's the type of guy that when you meet him, you think he's great. Mr. Personality, but when you get to know him, you realize that there is nothing to back him up. Her fear is; he's cunning, sneaky and underhanded. She's afraid the courts might actually give him their son. She can't afford the best lawyer and he has a major shark. He's done nothing for his son except to kill any self esteem the boy has. He uses him to get back at his Mom.

Please just say a prayer, that things go well for them and they can rid themselves of this horror of a human being. Pray the courts do the right thing for them and T gets to stay with the parent that truly loves him.

Sorry for this being so long. This is hard on all of us right now.

I work in the family law field, and have seen this scenario so many times. Prayers and pd being sent. I hope that she can find a good attorney (and expensive does not always mean good). If she has a low income, she should look into going through her local legal services. If it's like Colorado, many quality attorneys give their time to legal services by taking one or two cases a year. My attorney always has one pro bono case at a time, and she's a fantastic attorney. She's receiving an award for best pro bono attorney tomorrow, but also runs a very successful family law practice where she makes $200 per hour.
