I have an April 2012 cruise booked on points from my 2013 use year-if we are not able to go on this cruise-can I move these points to a cruise I have booked in December of 2012 or one I would like to book in 2013 once those are available? Thanks!

Depends upon when your Use Year ends and whether there is still cruise availability for members sailing on points. The cruise would have to fall within the same Use Year as the April 2012 booking AND there would still have to be availability on your new travel dates. DVC does not have access to all available cabins on all voyages.

You would also be assessed the $95 fee again for making a change to the itinerary.

Ok-so, if my use year is February and I want to move an April 2012 cruise to mid February 2013. -and DVC rooms are available-I can pay the $95 fee and move it? I also have a December 2012 cruise booked-but am not sure how many DVC rooms will be available on that one. I would love to keep the April cruise-but my husband's work schedule won't be posted until December of 2011-five months before the cruise...thanks again for your help!

Your Use Year runs from every February 1 to the following January 31. If you cancel a cruise planned for April 2012, you would have to rebook for dates between February 1, 2012 and January 31, 2013.

As for availability, only DVC could help you with that. It caught a lot of people by surprise this past fall when DVC essentially revealed that there was no more cruise availability through at least September 2011. As of today you may still be able to move the points to your December '12 cruise, but even if you can there's no way of telling how long that option may remain available.

With a February use year, the points would have to be used by 1/31/13.

One more question (about this at least) can I move the points on this cruise to my November 2011 cruise or do they have to stay in 2012 since they are from the 2013 use year...Thanks again!!

No, you could not do that. Once committed to a cruise the points become classified as Reservation Points. They cannot be borrowed, banked or transferred and they expire at the end of the Use Year. You cannot even use them for DVC resort stays. The only thing you can do with those points is to apply them toward a cruise or another Disney Collection, Concierge Collection or Adventurer Collection destination within the same Use Year.

They can only be used 2/1/12 to 1/31/13 (date of stay/cruise).
