Can you make an ADR and choose to eat at the Bar?

That is if the restaurant has a bar. I know I've dined at Disney Restaurant Bars as a walk-in in the past. Wasn't sure if I could do it with an ADR or if an ADR was even necessary.

Thanks

There may be some places where you need an ADR to eat at the bar (maybe Jiko I read about?). Personally, I have eaten at the bars at 50's Prime Time and Yak and Yeti without them. The Wave bar and Nomad Lounge are favorites of mine also, but they have more limited menus.

Thanks for the reply! Is the bar at 50's PT called the Tune-in Lounge? I currently have an ADR for 50's, would they seat me at Tune-in with that ADR or am I better of canceling?

They are not going to seat you at the bar at 50s and yes it's call Tune-in Lounge. There is limited space at the bar and few chairs and couches in the lounge, which are mostly used by people waiting to get into 50s. Every time I've been in the lounge the bar itself has been standing room only.

We have been to the lounge outside of Jikos and just sat at the bar without ADRs, if I remember correctly and I could be wrong, it's a limited menu at bar.

I don't know of any bar/lounge that you need ADRs for but we haven't been to all of them. We have eaten at the Tabu Lounge at Poly and the Wave Lounge at CR, Nomad Lounge and had appetizers in the lounge outside of Jikos. We have had drinks at Tune-In Lounge but have seen people eating at the bar, we also eat at the outside HBD lounge, it's walk up only.

I’ve managed to snag a spot at the Tune in Lounge the last couple of trips, had the meatloaf once and the vegetarian lasagna once. Wandered into Yak and Yeti last night around 7:00, the bar only had 6 chairs but several were available and a good sized menu.

I'm pretty sure bar seating is walk-ups only. I've been told when trying to get a spot at a restaurant without an ADR (like at 50's prime time) that I can wait & see if I can get a seat at the bar, and I've never seen them seat a party there.

I couldn't imagine you need a reservation for eating at the bar. At Cali Grill with no ADR and they said as long seats were open we could go up, they just don't want people standing behind others. I would just walk in, go right to the bar and not even bother saying anything.

I'd just cancel the ADR!

I've ducked into the Tune In Lounge with my kids, sat at the bar, and ordered off the full menu. No need for an ADR.
