Can you make a tent suggestion?

Ok ladies and gentleman...as we search for a new TT, and work on selling our old one, we are going to go with the tent idea someone gave me on here. (I can't remember who, but, thank you bunches! :))

We are going to camp in our current TT, and buy a tent to take with us to use as a storage/changing room. I will probably buy an air mattress to have just in case my DH decides he can't sleep in the bed with me and DD on our queen bed.

So, suggestions for a good tent? Also, do we need any additional type of rain covering for this tent, or will the rain protection it comes with be sufficient?

We will use it for storage of all the "stuff" that is currently in the upper bunk, as well as for the overflow of clothes. It can also be used as a place for people to get dressed and such because it gets tight in the camper with everyone in there. I guess we will just get some sort of fan to have in there so it isn't totally hot and gross in there. Speaking of, fans, does anyone know if they make a fan that my little ones can't get their fingers caught in? (My ODD got her hand caught in an escalator, so, we do not want to relive any hand surgeries.)

Thanks so much everyone! :goodvibes

I don't have a specific model to suggest, but I'd definitely make sure whatever you get is high enough to stand in comfortably, obviously. We just use the rain fly that came with ours, but you do have to still be careful not to rub up against it if it rains. Didn't someone here have a photo of a great setup with tarps over the tent?

OUCH! :scared1: Poor kiddo! We've got a fan with foam blades. Warning: It seems to actually tempt kids to stick their fingers in it (!) but it doesn't hurt a bit -- not even on little fingers. Might be worth considering! Also have seen fans with mesh-type covering that would keep bitty fingers out. (Although now that I've said that...and seem to be rambling anyway...you could probably just use a cheap box fan and put a piece of screen over it, maybe?)

My favorite tent is based on the easy-up style canopy, but it is made by Quest and sold at Dicks Sporting Goods. You buy the Quest canopy {it has the proper hangers for the tent} in either 10X10 or 12X12, then buy the tent accessory in 9X9 or 11X11 respectively.

This is a real tent, one piece, with screened windows and doors and a floor. You get all the room you need for storage, a sleeping spot or whatever, and when you wake up you can stand and stretch! canopy folds into a wheeled bag like you always see them, and the tent rolls into a fairly small duffle bag.

I want to say my whole rig cost a little less than $200 a couple years back.

K-Mart had a tent in their sale paper this week, a big one.

I admired the tent (the big one) in the Kmart paper today, looked great! I have to decide if I want to buy the tent this week, or register for the Princess 1/2 Marathon today. Decisions, decisions...

I would love a tent that worked like the EZ Up, I will definitely be checking that out this week. Are tents a "get what you pay for item?"

I would definitely say that they are. But do keep in mind that you still need to seal even the best tent to help keep it waterproof.

Dyson makes a fan with out the blades, sure it not cheap..... some of the smaller plastic fans are pretty close together.

If you have a costco membership you can look there or Sierra Trading Post out of WY, they have scratch & Dent and 2nd runs and a lot of new stuff really really cheap.

This looks like a direct copy of the Eureka Canyon we bought and loved for our last FW trip. And at half the price I would buy a can of seal spray and when you test run how to put it up just spray all the seams on the tent and on the fly.
Great use of space and easy to put up after one trial run at home

We just looked at this tent over the weekend, and thought it looked really nice. My DH was a little concerned that it might be a pain to put together, but, sounds like that is not the issue. Good news.

Ohh, I like the fan at the top, no she wouldn't reach that, so that is perfect! Thank you so much for the info.!:)

Your Welcome our tent is a little better built but hey I paid 300 for it, so this one with a little prep should do the job you need.
Have fun and remember to update us and do a tR.
