Can you lie?

I'm not asking whether it is morally right or not. I'm asking if you are able to convincingly pull it off.
White lies do count.

As for me, not really, especially if you're looking at me. I couldn't lie to save my life. It just doesn't work. At work it's a little difficult when people ask me if a top is the right color or is too small. They never like hearing it's too small.
I am good at turning it around, like saying that brand seems to be smaller than it should be. Or suggesting another(size) top may be more flattering.

How about you?

I wear my emotions on my sleeve, so lying does not work very well.

It's not in my nature to lie. I can be painfully honest, at times.

I'm such a bad liar. I should never be involved in the planning of showers, surprise parties, etc.

I can't lie, even if I wanted to. And sometimes, I do. Being able to lie successfully really requires an extraordinary memory and well I can't remember what I just said to my DS less then 5 minutes ago!

Well, my husband sure can't lie. I asked him to tell a friend I wasn't home last night when she called. I was tired and I just wasn't in the mood for her drama.

DH: "She's.......um.......she's........well........she's not available right now."

I can't lie! I literally show it on my face...I blush, I sweat...I'm not a good liar. Maybe that's why I always got caught when I was younger....hmmmmm....

The little things of course, like the telemarketer. I also wear my emotions on my sleeve. You can always tell what I am thinking. I can try to lie, but everyone always knows.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Mine is the same way.

I notice the only people answering are those who say they can't lie well because of course, people who can lie well, probably wouldn't really want to admit that...

:rotfl:

Yes I can lie and convincingly to most people. I learned my lesson LONG ago that lying isn't the way to go in life. Now I am as honest as can be except for stuff like planning surprises for my friends and family.

How would you know if the answer I told you was the truth?

DW says I am a terrible liar, so I stopped.:confused3

I can lie really well - to my kids. I had them convinced for about 5 years that I was 26:)

I don't typically lie, I don't know if I'm any good at it or not but I always felt like they could see right through me.

I'm a better liar (hmm. let's say fibber, sounds a teeny bit better) on the phone. DD was invited to a little boy's b'day party. She absolutely DID NOT want to go. So I called the mom and told that we would be out of town that day. To be honest would be to say, "no, DD will not be there. She doesn't like Timmy, she says 'he's mean, he stinks and has bad breath'". I don't think honesty like that would be good for him. I will take a gift to him though:) .

One lie that I did get away with was telling DH my Vera Bradley diaper bag was on sale for $30.00:rolleyes1 . Bless his heart.:)

I am donning my flame retardant suit right now;) .

Only if it means getting nookie.

"Wife!? What wife!? I ain't married! You must be thinking of my twin brother!"
