I was just wondering how I should go about dealing with a food allergy I have. I cannot have mushrooms, but I am not so terribly allergic that I am bothered by it being near me (just not in my tummy! :rotfl: ) Should I just double check with my server before ordering a certain dish? Mushrooms pop up in all kinds of recipes and I just recently learned of this allergy. I thought maybe another Diser has dealt with a situation like this. Thanks to anyone who can give some advice! :worship:

Let the Dining people know; have it noted on your ADRs. If you wish to contact each restaurant ahead of time, you can do so. And let your server know as well. From what I've read here, they will likely send the chef out to talk with you at TS restaurants, talk you through what you can't have, and so on.

If noted on your ADRs, the chef will come out and talk to you about the food.
We noted that my DD had a wheat allergy (not Celiac) She didn't make the Boma ressies (her flight was late) but our server said that the chef was ready to come out and walk the buffet line with her to tell her what she would be able to eat. At Ohana's, the server went through the menu, and one of the chefs from behind the rotisserie came over to talk about the spices on the meats. For dessert, they not only brought the bread pudding, but also fresh cut pineapple for her.
