can someone difine what semi-formal is. i know what formal and casual is on DCL but i have no clue on semi-formal. thanks:crazy:

I've always wondered that myself, as many cruise ships use that term. On semi-formal nights I usually wear an island type dress or dressy pants and blouse. My husband wears a cotton,button-down shirt w/ khakis, no tie. But we don't like to dress up.I guess if you did you could wear a short cocktail dress and the man would wear a coat and tie.Hope that helps.:wave2:

if i was to wear a short cocktail dress i think i would be the talk of the whole cruise. LOL:crazy: :wave2: ::MickeyMo

I equate semi-formal as something one would wear if he/she were attending a wedding, (day or early evening.) A nice dress (or cocktail dress) for women and a suit for men:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Basically, it means a nice dress or "dressy" pant outfit. On Disney, it means anything you want!!! A lot of people wear tropical sorts of outfits..... I truly think people worry too much about what to wear on the ship. Be comfortable, and as dressy as you wish. Nothing other than shorts or a swimsuit would be out of place. For guys, anything from dockers and a polo to a dark suit is appropriate.
