First I would like to say hi, and also to say how excited to find this board! I have been looking for dinsey wedding info for almost 4 months straight and I keep runnings into road blocks w/ the exception of the 2 yahoo groups I am in......but there DL and we are WDW so go figure :earboy2:

The question I have is that in your opion if you think that a custom wedding can in some cases be more cost effective? Let me explain....
We are going to hopefully have 15-18 guest attending our wedding. They will all be coming from across the U.S. We are planning on getting married at the Plavilion, having mickey & Minnie, cinderella coach, upgrade flowers, xtra bottles of champagne, in park photo session, and also hosting a dinner reception at California Grill or maybe Coral Reef......will are wanting a private room so we can have some privacy. We are also thinking of maybe hosting a illumations dessert party through epot.

With all this said I was sitting here thinking maybe a custom would be more guest as much and I would be able to have more assitance in planning. Has anyone ran into this problem, or have done this with an intimate wedding?

Also I was wondering if you are not able to meet the room block requirements if that can go to the minumium?
Also we will be having our wedding on a monday-Thursday.

I certainly think if you're going to have all that then a Custom could be cost effective for sure. As long as you do everything through Disney then you'll hit your minimums, eg, floral, photography, video etc etc

The coach in itself would help you get to that minimum ;)

I have attended a custom wedding where there were 16 guests and the bride hit her minimum and some LOL

If you know you can afford it and want all those extras then I say yes the Custom can be cost effective. Just remember though that the minimums are for events and extras that happen the actual day of the wedding.

I agree--with everything you want, you should be able to do the minimum--just pick a weekday! Plus, you get the fun extras like a planning session, a rehearsal, etc. I THINK that you only need the minimum booking requirement to get your free room. AND it is easier to meet than you think. Even if your 18 people all stayed two to a room...they only each need to stay 3 nights--and will you be staying for your honeymoon? That counts too! My DH and I had 14 nights between the two of us with our honeymoon and our separate rooms the days before the event...
