can you have jpgs

They have to be gifs, but there's always using a colored background & then having parts of the jpeg be that same color to look invisible, but if the background changes it wouldn't work.

thanks everyone. i'd wanted my signature to be transparent, but it went white when i saved it as jpg so i thought something was up. i'll save it as a gif in that case.
