]I want the truth, but not if it hurts the country or it's troops. Not that I believe we should protect the president no matter what, but the troops and the country yes.
It seems likely that we are on common ground on this point.
The second choice would probably be more in line with your thinking if " hurt " had been used instead of "uncomfortable". But " hurt " seemed open to more misunderstanding.

To reverse the question to you, would you want to know the truth about some other past presidents (especially democrats) if it hurt your opinion of them?
There is no truth about a past President that would bring down the opinion of any past President
lower than it already is for those that are the least of students to history.
There have been a few Presidents that have tossed a bone to the masses on occassion, but for the most part they all knew that the "Two Party System"
was merely a myth for the masses to be able to think they were not all slaves.
Interesting you bring up Presidents when it is hardly the Topic of this thread. Do you think you know enough about what happened on 9/11 to think bush was more than an unwitting dupe?
Yes, the truth about 9/11 is the goal, but bush is just one of many players and possibly not even a very important one.
Think of that shot heard around the world, not many know who fired that shot, but most people know what it meant and what it started.
The only truth that is feared now is that what started that day in Concord was ended with another event heard around the world on 9/11.
