Can you handle the truth about 9/11 ?

Check any of the following you agree with ?

  • It's always best to know the truth.

  • Truth is best even if it makes others uncomfortable.

  • Truth is only ok if it's not difficult to find.

  • Truth is not worth having to admit you've been tricked.

  • Truth is the first victim of war.

Do you still hold chat sessions like you used to?

Truth does not hardly ever chat and does not pm/e-mail ubless it's a heve to case. Truth tries to post only topics of interest to anyone hence part of the reason for this thread and the advocacy of making all political and debate threads off limits at the CB.

Feel free to start a thread if you have a topic you wish to discuss with everyone and Truth will be glad to contribute if any Truth thoughts seem worthy.

Oh well, I usually just reply!:sunny: I'm just eating veggie pizza, how boring is that?:earseek: I can't think of anything profound or interesting to discuss.

Carry on....

Took awhile, but now I understand.

I would prefer the unvarnished truth. However, I tend to believe that 9/11 will go down in history along with other national tragedies that leave more questions unanswered than answered. I doubt that we will ever know the whole truth about 9/11. :(

Dark matter or energy, but if that means you think Truth is calling these people ignorant or that Truth knows what Dark energy is, you seem to be the one that does not understand.

Um...does Truth HAVE to talk about him/herself in the third person? Alliecats thinks it is kinda creepy. ::yes::

You are satisfied with your version of what happened on 9/11. Understood. The question here is
not a debate about anything.

It was and remains still the topic of this thread.

What happened on 9/11 is not what's being asked here.
The goal of this thread is to get some idea of how willing people are to search for the truth if the search or it's results are going to upset them.

Ok just one more...I didn't say I agree with the findings of the commission, I said I am satisfied that they set out to do what they were supposed to be doing. Don't presume to judge what I think. You only want your version of the truth...you are not interested in anyone else opinions or versions of what they believe the truth to be. This is getting old.

So you agree that no one should presume to judge what you think, yet you are free to presume to judge what others think by saying what you think they want ?

It seems there is a slight misunderstanding. If you are interested in what the truth about 9/11 events are then there is common goal.

Would it suprise you to find out that the personal opinion of this poster has not been published on this or any other thread here at the DIS.

To be clear, a search/discussion of the truth is all that is being talked about here.

Everyone's ideas and versions are of interest.

Anyway, sorry if you feel there were any negative
context to any comments directed to you, it was certainly not intended. The only goal was to try to supply some information about the points you had asked about.

I don't have a place in your poll, probably because you just didn't think of it. Definately not blaming you, it's hard to put it into words myself.

I want the truth, but not if it hurts the country or it's troops. Not that I believe we should protect the president no matter what, but the troops and the country yes.

To reverse the question to you, would you want to know the truth about some other past presidents (especially democrats) if it hurt your opinion of them?

Speaking for myself....Absolutely ! It is the reason I thrive on biographies, I want to know as many sides of the person as possible. How else to form an opinion of them?

It seems likely that we are on common ground on this point.
The second choice would probably be more in line with your thinking if " hurt " had been used instead of "uncomfortable". But " hurt " seemed open to more misunderstanding.

There is no truth about a past President that would bring down the opinion of any past President
lower than it already is for those that are the least of students to history.

There have been a few Presidents that have tossed a bone to the masses on occassion, but for the most part they all knew that the "Two Party System"
was merely a myth for the masses to be able to think they were not all slaves.

Interesting you bring up Presidents when it is hardly the Topic of this thread. Do you think you know enough about what happened on 9/11 to think bush was more than an unwitting dupe?

Yes, the truth about 9/11 is the goal, but bush is just one of many players and possibly not even a very important one.

Think of that shot heard around the world, not many know who fired that shot, but most people know what it meant and what it started.

The only truth that is feared now is that what started that day in Concord was ended with another event heard around the world on 9/11.

One stark example was on the very last day with people in the gallery begging and pleading for the commission to ask about the War games being conducted the morning of 9/11 that had as there objective practice on what to do if several Jet Airliners were hijacked at once by terrorists.

As an aside, this was not news. NORAD does these types of exercise all the time. Even during PAST administrations. It just happened to be coincidental. I'm sure the more we look the more we will find things that any Oliver North type could concoct as some sort of conspiracy. Just like the JFK assasination. I image where the families were going with this, but they were barking up the wrong tree.

Now, back to the debate.

I'd rather have the facts, not someone else's "truth".

Have to agree here! ::yes::

Just give me the facts and then I will assess "intent" as far as 911.

It is not always easy to recognize the truth.

We all watched as the statue of Sadaam was torn down. It has been shown over and over gain on TV. The reporters at the time spoke of "thousands" of cheering Iraqis. Now long shot photos have been released that show the "thousands" to actually be "fewer than 200".

Apparently it was just another case of stage managing.

:bored:

really? you actually find it boring that you were lied to? Or do you just claim to be bored when the lie suits your agenda?

If the truth is the unbiased truth, I think it's important to know it.

Unfortunately, with regard to an event like 9/11, I think it would be next to impossible to have an unbiased version of the truth. There is always going to be some partisanship, someone is always going to skew the facts to make it look as if their favorite side (whether that be Dem or Rep, far left or far right) had no bearing on those events, when we all know there were years of "issues" leading up to that moment.

So the truth would be nice, but I don't think we'd ever get it without some coloring based on the researcher or reporter's beliefs.

No, I find it boring that you and others like you point to an incident like this to show an untruth. A minor incident that happened over a year ago. The left's new favorite movie is riddled with untruths but you don't mention them. Why not use them as an example of untruths? Or would that not suit your agenda? As far as an agenda, I have always considered myself an independent. I don't vote in "the lesser of two evils" type of elections. Until this year. A number of posters on the DIS have convinced me to vote for Bush, and none of them are conservatives or Republicans. If my vote can cause the hand wringers here to wring thier hands just a little bit harder then I'm all for it. The "bash America every chance we get" crowd makes me sick. And before you start trying to second guess me, I'm not a part of the "America right or wrong" crowd. If it were up to me that little porno skank and her friends from Abu Graib (sp?) prison wouldn't see the light of day until they were too old to reproduce.

The incident may have happened over a year ago, but the revelations of the reality happened this week. Is there a time limit on learning the truth? May I ask if you had already seen these pictures, or were they news to you? They were certainly news to me when I saw them for the first time today. It seemed perfectly appropriate to bring this up on a thread about truth and perception of truth. I do not really understand why you disagree.
That is why I jumped to the erroneous conclusion about your agenda, for which I apologize. But given that this is news, and directly pertains to the "truth" theme, I saw no other reason for you to express boredom.

As to the "bashing America crowd" what can I say except that once again anyone disagreeing with the current administration gets immediately charged with being anti American. Judging by the polls it looks as if at least half the country is now "anti-American".
