Hi!

Looking at the stuff I want to order for the cruise.

I was wondering if I could have my wine delivered at the "dining room" if we are dining at Remy that night?

Thanks in advance!

Do you mean from the wine packages? Yes.

It's not part of a package but I saw a Cabernet Sauvignon that I would like to order (with the form, from the DCL website).
Well, if "to the dining room (Remy)" isn't a delivery option, you could have it delivered to your room, and bring it to the Remy yourself.

Yes, you can take your wine that you brought on the ship with you to Remy prior to your dinner. It is suggested that you do this so it can be decanted about 1 hour prior to dinner. I usually meet with the sommelier to review the wines I brought with me to match them with the dinner menu.

Remy has an extensive wine list that is not available outside of Remy. I would wait until I got on and know my budget. The sommelier was very nice to us and since they were out of the vintage of the bottle we choose he gave us a free "upgrade" to a better year of the same one. It was roughly 100 difference but my fiance was very nice to him and they chatted about wine for a while in the beginning. Their vault is pretty impressive for a cruise ship. There were a few of fiance's dream wines on the list.

I just wonder if we could get a wine under 80$ from Remy.

If not. I think about ordering.

Bringing our own wine is not a bad idea... I guess they'll charge us 25$ (Corking fee) ?

Maybe we can buy a bottle at Port Orleans Riverside?

There are some wines available under $80 but the better wines are $80 or above. That's why we bring our own. A $50 wine at the store is about $100 at Remy (or any fine restaurant). I would rather pay $20 (corking fee) for my $100 bottle than spend $200 for a bottle on board.

Thanks - we chose Palo over Remy b/c we're not huge fans of French food, unless someone can give a good reason to switch?

Remy has American food as well. The menu is half French and half American. There are things like venison, pork dishes, etc depending on the season. They use to switch every season but now it seems the menu only switches twice a year.

Palo is amazing and the dessert is to die for. Remy is an experience and if you love fine dinning it is so worth it. I go because the food is good and they have a fabulous cheese course. I love cheese and my fiance jokes I cruise just for the cheese course as I'll be so giddy through the whole dinner until it comes and talk all about the specialty cheeses.

Thanks for the info - had no idea that it wasn't all French! I supposed we'll just have to go to both!

I'll be honest. I'm going back to Palo for the chocolate soufflé. XD
