I saw the other post about being able to get ME when you book through AAA but it sounded like you actually booked through a person and not the website. We are planning a last minute trip to WDW this December and are using DVC points for two nights and then booking a third night at the Poly. I looked at the AAA.com and they have the Poly available for the night we want at about $50 cheaper than if I go through disney.com but if I have to pay for transportation (because I can't book ME) then to me it isn't worth it. When I talked with DVC they said they would book the inbound on ME and then I would have to book the return when I booked the Poly but they assumed I would go through CRO. So long story short - does anyone know if I can book the Poly through AAA.com and get ME or should I call AAA directly or try CRO and see if they have AAA rate for that one night?

Whew what a mouthful - thanks in advance.

To make a long answer, shortL: Yes.

You can arrange DME directly via their toll-free number (see either of the applicable stickies at the top of the Transportation board, I'm sure the number's there).

Ronda is correct.

DME is a perk of bring a registered guest at a WDW owned-and-operated resort. Your eligibility to use DME has nothing to do with DVC or not, package or not, travel agent or not, and so on.

Since DME reservations for DVC stays are handled by DVC Member Services and not by DME itself, if you are doing a split stay that involves only one part of that stay on DVC points, then reservations for the one-way DME trip that begins or ends at the DVC resort must be made through DVC Member Services, and the other part of the round-trip must be reserved through DME. Hope that makes sense.

The only other criteria are that DME travel must take place on your WDW check-in date/check-out date(s), and must be between MCO and the applicable resort (meaning, for example, that you can't be staying your first night at Pop but hope to take DME directly to the Poly to try to squeeze in dinner at 'Ohana your first night).

The direct DME number is 866-599-0951.

Thanks everyone! Other than our stay at the Poly and now under consideration is the Contemporary, we're trying to really keep costs down since this is a last minute planned trip for us. We've never used DME before so I definitely wasn't up to speed on how it works. You've definitely put my mind at ease - thanks much!
