Can you get kicked off of a boat?

On another note, knowing that friends are going to get rowdy and obnoxious when they get drunk, why is Disney the cruise line you are choosing?? It's just not appropriate.
I don't see what makes a bar on a Disney cruise ship any different from a bar on any other cruise line, or from a bar on land for that matter. (If anything, you can get MORE drunk and stupid on the ships, because there's zero chance of needing to drive home.) If it's "the Disney name" or some such, you should visit Pleasure Island. :)

On our November 2002 cruise there was a couple who was escorted off the boat in St Thomas. He had been extremely drunk (loud, obnoxious, swearing) the whole day and night before. His wife was extremely sloppy drunk and loud also. After the bellyflop contest, which he won, the wife stood up to do something and walked a couple of feet and went down HARD. They both insisted that the deck was wet and slippery and were telling everyone (loudly) the rest of the day and night that they were going to sue Disney for her "broken" ankle. They were taken off the ship in St Thomas and given a hotel room and flown home. We saw them on the beach, her in a wheelchair, him pushing - both still drunk. They were really a mess.

It's just my opinion, I guess, and I'm entitled to it. In my opinion, it doesn't fit the Disney image.

Let's face it.....Disneys image IS changing. From Snow White to Brittney Spears......from the mickey mouse club to the disney channel........from Mickey Mouse cartoons to The Haunted Mansion......from It's a Small World to Tower of Terror..........and last but not least, from the Big Red Boat to The Magic and The Wonder.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but like I said, you should visit Pleasure Island. Drunken merriment (not to mention PG-13+ dancing :teeth: ) abounds! :)

Hey Rae, what if we were caught wrestling for that last shrimp at the buffett?? Would that be considered rowdy??

Rowdy? Me protecting my shrimp?! Not hardly. Furthermore, I have been granted special dispensation to do what I deem necessary to protect my shrimp as I see fit....okay, big guy, wanna test that rule with me?
I can just see your wife and my husband laughing til their sides ached that this one!!!!

Although they were not "escorted off ship" we did have a couple miss sailing and their famlies demanded to be let off at the next port (St. Thomas). Go figure how a couple stuck on St. Marten and trying to get back to either the Magic or Port Canaveral would know that their relatives had gotten off at St. Thomas to attempt to go back and try to find them and get back to either the Magic or Port Canaveral. (My brain is spinning just from writing this!!!!)
Go figure!

We tested that one - all that happened was the crew member hosting bingo came over after and thanked us for "being alive" at bingo. He even told us that we were enjoying it more that the jacpot winner did the week before and we weren't winning ANYTHING!! We were also acknowledged by him from center stage every time after that as "I see the group is here again". It is amazing how much I enjoyed bingo after a bloody mary and how hard it was to concentrate on my cards after the second one. LOL

Yeah, like that kind of rowdy. I'm pretty sure Kimer meant that kind of rowdy when they placed the first post! Nice to see someone else having a little fun! Get a little rowdy at bingo? Why not? Sing poorly at karaoke? Why not? Wear a swimsuit that doesn't look as good as you think it does? Yeah, why not?
I'm on a cruise!

This thread reminded me of the most "interesting" drunken behavior that I've seen on board. In 35 cruises, most of what we've witnessed has fallen into the category of general drunken rowdiness, with the occasional dance on a table (yes, we actually saw that once!). But the worst was a drunk-out-of-her-skull woman who was over in the smoking section of Wavebands during the 70s Party. While each Gloria Gaynor performed, this idiot pranced around the smoking section yelling, "I AM GLORIA GAYNOR!" and doing some very provacative moves, like putting her scarf behind men's necks and pulled their faces into her bosom. I'm glad we're non-smokers and were sitting far enough away to be out of the danger zone. I don't know if she was escorted out or what, but she eventually dissapeared.
Other than that, the only other memorable incident was when a large group from an investment firm was on board and putting away huge quantities of alcohol. While I was having a cabana massage, a huge group of them were getting drunk nearby, and the alcohol was loosening their lips. I heard all about how badly they treat small investors so they can focus on the big clients. You can bet I'll never do business with them! They were using names and some specific information about clients, which I thought was inappropriate.

Barb - that falls under the category of "loose lips sink ships"!!
Small wonder why I hide my children's inheritance under my mattress and not play in the stock market!!!

I'm going to spend more time in Wavebands!!!!!!!

Why on earth would a nightclub need to be a "family friendly environment?"
NOT all of the nightclubs are "Adults Only".

No one said to be straight laced, up tight boring old fogies either. Having fun and having boundaries (even/especially for adults) helps maintain an environment that all can enjoy - not letting the obnoxious and overtly vulgar ruin it for all.

Reading all of these posts reminds me of one of our trips to Mazatlan. We were staying at a very nice resort and on Fiesta night we were all partying and having a good time. Well, the couple next to us was beyond the good time stage of drinking. She was wearing a strapless bathing suit top and as the evening wore on she kept pulling it lower and lower until one breast fell out. She just sat there and laughed letting it all hang out. Her husband was embarassed and kept telling her to cover up and her reply was "No one knows who the #$%& we are!" Well, pretty soon the other half of her was exposed as well, her husband was even more red-faced and she kept yelling "No one knows who the #$%& we are!". The next day, about lunchtime, here comes the much hung over couple. She was really draggin' and everyone in the area was looking at her and whispering about her behavior the night before. As she passed our table my dad stood up and shouted, "Hey! We know who the #$%& YOU are!". I could have died! The whole place burst out laughing. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

OMG...I'm trying to get that image out of my head!! Good for your dad!!! I'm the type of person that would be thinking it but probably wouldn't have said it! I wonder if the woman even had a clue what he was talking about!?

*Lampskies quickly writing down something....*

Mental note: Next vacation...consider Mazatlan and mention nothing of this post to DW. Got it, Wavebands and Mazatlan.

My parents were on a cruise last month (RCCL - different line but I'm sure the same rules apply) and a few families were kicked off at the first port of call. When you sign your cruise contract which some people I'm sure don't read, there is something about that in there.

Apparently there was a "family feud" going on and a few of the families trashed their cabins; thus, their first stop at Puerto Rico they were kicked off! The captain even made an announcement that the rowdy passengers were leaving.

LOL - I was thinking the EXACT same thing (except that I don't have a DW).
