Can you get AAA rate room only for March 2008?

Never booked a room this far ahead, but with availabilty limited during Spring/Easter, I want to be sure I have our room. Can you get a AAA rate this far ahead? Through Disney reservations or AAA?

AAA rates (and other rates) have not been released for 2008. If you are booking room only, you can book at rack rate and call back to adjust when AAA rates are available. They will adjust your rate as long as AAA rates are available for the resort (so call early!). We did the same thing this year since we were going in January and wanted to book before rates came out.

Seems like it is late summer (August?). It is after the regular rates come out, not at the same time.

I just booked the Poly for Dec 2007. I asked about a AAA rate but the CM I was booking with said no AAA rate was available. Now I'm wondering ....do you think there were no AAA rates left....or do you think they have not yet been released for Dec 2007?

Can you book AAA rates by calling Disney directly? Can you still get a package with DDP with an AAA discount? And lastly if you do book through Disney can you make installment payments? I know final is due 45 days before check in on a package but can you call them to make payments every month? And oh one more, what is the AAA discount usually? 10%?

AAA rates are released for the whole year when they are released. It is possible that you could get a AAA discount for a different resort for your dates or for different dates at your resort, but the number of rooms per date and per resort is limited. You could also conceivably get a AAA rate for a lagoon view at the Poly but not a garden view, for example.

You can book room only AAA rates through Disney directly. Packages with AAA discounts need to go through AAA - the discount is off the room portion. You should be able to make payments as you go - I have been paying on our cruise online even though final payment is not due yet. You might be able to log in with your confirmation number and do it online, or you could call CRO. If you book through AAA, you might need to go through them.

AAA discounts are typically 15% off deluxe and DVC in Value season, 20% off moderates and values in value season. The discount is 10% deluxe, 15% moderate and value during other seasons. No discounts are usually available during holiday season.

Thanks StitchandPooh'sMom. I know it's probably too late for me, but I think I will call back to see if there might be a AAA rate for another view as you mentioned. We do have a GV so I could see about a lagoon view...probably too late but maybe worth a call.

One more question if you don't mind. When are the AAA rates released for the year? I have an Aug, 2008 ressie, so I could keep my eyes out for a AAA rate for then.

They are released after the general room rates, which have not been released yet. Everyone seems to be expecting room rates to be released anytime between now and August. Last year room rates were released in mid-May and package rates in early August. Seems like AAA rates were released about the same time as package rates - I remember waiting for them!

If you look on AAA's website, you can tell which room types they have discounts left for, because although they may show availability at all resorts, if the discounts are gone, they show rack rates. If there are discounts left, the price shown will be below rack rate. For 2008, their website just says no rooms available at all, because the rates aren't out yet.
