Can you get a Disney Visa with a bankruptcy?

Let me give you the specs. We filed on old medical bills from DH first marriage, and credit cards I opened when I was 18. Our bankruptcy was chapter 7 and was discharged in DEC 01. Since then we have had two auto loans and credit cards, 2 with thousands of $$$ limits ( never once a late payment and none are currently charged to the gills). We are responsible and pay our bills timely. I have always wanted a Disney card and their are occasional deals on vacation packages etc. Including my current car loan we have a total of about $15,000 in debt, $13,000 is the balance on the auto loan. Thanks to the people that didn't rush to judgment I swore after our bankruptcy we would always be responsible and we have been, I believe everyone deserves a second chance in life, if filling bankruptcy in my early twenties is mine than so be it!

Let us know, we are currently @ our 4 year mark and I will apply in a couple (probably three years) We too have a new home, and two new cars since.

You didn't need to justify anything to anybody.....don't give them the satisfaction of knowing why...you made the right decision for your family at that time in your life and the the court agreed with your circumstances...end of story.

For the judgmental folks...a car accident, an illness, natural disaster or a divorce can break you....some spend recklessly...some run up debt paying for medications, co-pays, covering living expenses waiting for an insurance settlement that may never come about(State Farm did this to Katrina victims), what happens when a dad is ordered to pay out 33% of his pre tax salary in child support, plus day care, medical, braces and still has to provide a place for his kids to stay for the 3-4 days a week that he has his kids?

IMHO there's NOTHING worth dealing with Chase over. I cancelled mine, the deals really weren't anything special IMHO.

I am well aware that child support is non dischargeable....but the bills that dad runs up trying to support himself while he is paying the court ordered child support 1st could very well be dischargable.
