We still have Tons left from Halloween and we don't want them to waste? Can we freeze those and dumb dumbs and use them next year?:confused3

Not sure how many you have but you could make candy wreaths out of the smarties :)

I don't think Smarties will go bad... They are basically all sugar, which is a preservative. I would stick them in an airtight container and call it good. If you freeze them, thawing them out might make liquid condense on them and make them all squishy.

I'd give em away or make a wreath
before trying to save em and give em out to kids......don't like that idea one bit really.

We got a TON of candy this year, and then my mom also had a TON left over from work... so we packed huge bags up and took one to the Firehouse and the other to an assisted living home. Both places were very thankful to get the candy!

I do think smarties go bad, they start to turn different colors and get dark dots on them and they don't taste so good after that.

As for the dum-dums they to get old, when they get old the candy gets kind of gross.

You shouldn't save them for next year - see if the food bank will take them. The Dum-Dums will probably get all gummy and stick to the wrappers, and the smartees will, like another poster said, change color and consistency (probably get really soft).

LOL -- Smarties last forever! I've had some in an airtight canister on my kitchen counter for 3 years now; we nibble at them every once in a while and they are just fine.

Smarties will last a long time. My DH's office is across from the Smarties factory. You can smell them in the air on production days... yum! I would give the Dum Dums to a local food bank. They will go bad and they will brighten someone's day for sure! :)
