Okay.. I'll warn ya now, this post serves no other purpose then to whine, but I needed to share with those who could fully understand my dilema.
Here's the deal... SIL is getting married next year (Valentine's Day). While caught up in all the excitment and wanting to do something really nice I made an offer that I'm not finding hard to follow through. I said I'd give up my Disney Trip for next year, rent my DVC points, and give them a portion of the money to pay for their honeymoon (the rest of the money would be used to pay for dues next year).
It sounded good when I made the offer. We had made plans middle of last year to take SIL (and MIL) to Disney w/ us this year in Oct. Once the future BIL came along, he was welcomed and included in the trip. Now since they aren't Disneyfanatics like us, they aren't interested in going to Disney again (for their honeymoon), esp after just being there a few months prior.
So now of course the full ramifications of my offer strikes me. I guess in my Disneyforia, I had hoped we could send them to Disney for their honeymoon in Feb, and I'd still have enough points to make a short jaunt down there, but that's been nix'ed. Now I'm left with renting my points for next year - something I have NO IDEA how to go about which is fustrating to beging w/(any and all advise would be appreciated), and no Disney vacation for next year.
I know financially this is the smart/best thing for us to do if we really want to treat my SIL, which I really want to do, I love her like my own sister, even if she does drive me crazy (just like my own sister
). But if it's the smart/best/right thing to do... why do I keep stalling in finding out what I need to do next??
Anyone else been in a situation where they had to choose between the right thing and the Disney thing to do?
