I want to make sure I understand the new rules correctly.

Let's say I have a non-home resort reservation made on the first day possible for seven days.

On day two, I call to extend the reservation and I'm told there are no rooms available that day at that resort.

Then, do I need to wait until seven months before that new extended date to get a reservation? Member services says they can't do a reservation in advance (I mean, timed from the first check-in day) that is split between two resorts.

Or, did we just talk to the wrong person?

Thank you!!

based on how the new booking rules are set up, you will always be able to extend your room at your resort at 11 months booking. There is noone else that can book that room before you can.

Thanks, but I'm asking about seven month (non home resort) booking.

So, can one book in advance and split reservation between two resorts?

Switching resorts would require a new reservation.

Under the new reservation system you would have to wait until the 7 month window for your check in day at the new resort and book up to 7 days there.

You should always be able, as pyrxtc said, to extend a reservation of the same resort/room class. At least in theory. However, you can not add nights at a non-home resort, and there is no guarantee a different room class at your home resort will be available.

Non-home resorts have to wait for the 7 month window.

Another thing about extending, if you have more than one home resort, say OKW and BCV. You want to book 7 nights at BCV and two nights at OKW. Arrive Dec 1, change to OKW Dec 8 and 9.

Call Jan 1 to book BCV for Dec 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. Call Jan 8 to book OKW for Dec 8 and 9. In other words, extensions apply ONLY to the same resort and room class, even if you have multiple home resorts. If you second home resort is already booked, just keep trying or waitlist.

That being said, all discussion of the new policies is being limited to this thread. You may continue the discussion there, if you wish.
