What I mean, is, do people ever cancel and free up more codes? I have my reservation number from Susie at Small World Vacations (Who is AMAZING) but I don't want to bug her to keep checking on my ressie. So can I call back every day and see if there's anything open where I really want to go?

We were going to stay at AKL which we had with the code but realized that it was going to be too much so we wanted to switch to ASMo b/c ds3 is a big Toy Story Fan. Alas, there were no more codes there or at Pop so we went to Mod which was cheaper with a code than the rack rate at the value.

So should I start calling and trying to switch to Toy Story?

Any ideas?

Thanks. :earboy2:

keep phoning i got the discount for PO just four days before our stay
had booked AS Sp just in case had no problem changing over the booking

i have always heard that if someone uses a code to make a ressie and then cancels, the code doesn't come back, but i am not an expert.

We stayed at FW last July. We were unable to use a code on a preferred site until just 2 weeks before our stay. I had a CM on the phone at 7am the day they released the codes and was told that they were all gone. A very nice CM told me that if rooms/sites do not fill up they will add more rooms to the code pool. It was worth my calling back on numorous occassions.

Ok my understanding is if someone cancels that had a code, the discount does not get recycled.

However at times Disney will release a certain number of room at each resort to be discounted. Then later on they might release a few more.

Hope that explains it. :)

Gosh, I'm learning so much! I've made ressies for late sept into oct., when should i start looking/asking about codes? I'll be perfectly happy with our 2 rooms at ASMo but i sure do secretly dream of a room at WL or even 2 rooms at either PO.

When I was booking my January trip I made ressies at All Star Movies just to make sure I would have a place to stay. I missed the codes when they first came out, so called about a week later and couldn't get WL or AKL (at least not couryard view and savanna view), which is what I really wanted. I applied the AP code to All Star Movies and kept calling back everyday. After about a week I was able to get the AP code at WL. I kept calling everyday for about 4 or 5 days and finally got a couple of days at AKL. We wound up doing four nights at WL and two nights at AKL.

AFAIK if you make a reservation through a TA they are the only ones who can change your reservation, including adding a discount code. You should either pick a TA that is going to check enough to make you happy or book it yourself.

I guess you could call and if you see a discounted rate available call your TA and hope the rate is still there when your TA calls.

I am planning a trip the first week in November thru Dreams Unlimited. I would love to get an AP rate for my stay at the Wilderness Lodge. Will my agent keep an eye out for the codes and call as soon as they come out? Or do I have to look for them and call?
Where do you see the codes? I know people say they come out 2 months before you go, but where do I look for them?
Thanks :flower:

Exactly.

The other option (if you find a code and you can't reach your agent to have it applied) is to make a NEW reservation with the code. Then cancel one or the other depending on whether or not your agent also gets you the discount. :)
