Can you do this with the Disney Dining Plan and DVC?

We are planning on traveling late October and early November for 9 nights. We plan to take advantage of the food and wine festival and also are booking Party for the Senses. If we make a two bedroom reservation for two people but most of the time may have more people in our room with us, can we just ad a dining plan for two people but on same days use our credits for other people dining with us even though we haven't purchased the plan for them? For instance, we are thinking of getting a deluxe dining plan which would give two people 6 meals a day. On one day, it may just be the two of us. But on another day, we may want to use 4 credits for a dinner for 4 people. Is this a problem and does the restaurant really check and verify that everyone is on the plan? It seems I read there was a change to the plans that would allow you do do this sort of thing.

I believe that having unregistered guests sleeping in the room is against Florida law.

Not sure so experts chime in, but...

What about making two reservations... A studio with two in it, then a one bedroom with the other four... Then you can request adjoining rooms? And apply the dining to the studio only....

I would look into the Tables in Wonderland card. You get 20% off all food and drinks, adult beverages also, at most locations. Good for 10 people, for a full year, some times 13 months. And you won't be breaking any rules.

They would run the risk of the rooms not being together as requests are not guaranteed. Plus it is usually more points to book a studio + 1 bedroom than a 2 bedroom.

The issue is you'll need to get the DP for all guests for the entire length of stay. While it might be possible to sneak around and do what you're asking, it would be against the rules, dishonest and unethical to go that route. Plus you'd limit or give up ME and Fast Pass access as well.

As noted, some risk but minimal with appropriate requests and up front reservations. Or they could do a split stay and get the DP for a portion or even different plans for different times.

Depending on the resort, not all studios and 1 bedrooms are lockoffs.

I would book two units. Doing what you're saying, you would have to leave the other people's names off the reservation, so they would not get magicbands or access to the pool, etc.

I'm a fan of TIW, or was until the last prices increase. This will probably give you the best benefit. We actually did a QS meal plan when at F&W and use the meals for 3 snacks at the Festival. This worked and was worth it, with the mug, and by being selective on which snacks to buy with the plan.
