Can You DL Experts Help Me Figure This Out?

We keep going back and forth on whether to do WDW again this year or to take ds to DL and Legoland. We have ressies to stay at the VWL on points in Sept., but I just did the math and for almost exactly the same amount of points, we could do a concierge stay at the DL Hotel at the end of August.

"Peak" season (according to our DVC book) runs through 8/24. I understand that more of the shows/parades/fireworks run during Peak season. What I'm trying to figure out is if we arrive on Sat. Aug 23 (early afternoon), will there be fireworks that evening? How about Fantasmic? And would we be able to see the parade at DCA during the next week?

I just want us to get the most "bang" for our buck and wouldn't want to miss out on any of the really good stuff (LOL!) by arriving a week late. It's just that points are lower that last week of August..... Also, would the weather in CA at the end of August be any worse than Sept. in FL?

Any help would be appreciated!

All the parades etc should be running through Labor Day. So you should be okay, but as with everything at Disney, everything is subject to change.

Weather will be better here then, no humidty to speak of! And you should be able to have all the magical moments you are dreaming of!

as much as I love WDW , DL is so special! you have to see it at least once! I think if you go, you will want to come back!!! DL is sooooo much better than MK. and I really like CA!! be sure to spend plenty of time in the animation bldg, and do not miss soaring over california!!! It is one of disneys best ever!!!!
