Can you check in at midnight for the next day?

Turns out we plan to arrive late saturday night (driving) and will stay at Cornado Springs, but how soon can you check in the next day at BWV (and just check on your room status throughout the next day)? 1AM, 7AM, can you get in a room sooner if you check in sooner with no "demands" on which room? Planning to do the parks and dont want to waste time waiting to check in. Thanks for replies or experience's.

My guess is you will pay for that night. If you check in at Tuesday night at midnight (technically Wednesday morning), you are still going to pay for Tuesday night's points. If the room is available, you will get to check in right away which is nice :)

I believe the earliest you can check-in is 6:00am or 7:00am, that's when there computers turn over to the next day. I would call the front desk and ask. If they have an empty room at that time, you could get it.

When we checked in at the BCV in Nov. 2002 at 1 a.m. we were charged as if we had been there all day. Their reservation system starts at 7 a.m. We did not want to move so paid for the night even though we were only in it a few hours before being charged for the next day. At that time we were not members and paying on a cash basis, but I think it is the same way with points.

I thought it was 6am that you could begin check in. You can always call and ask Disney Reservations!

There is a turnover process that hotels run, typically at either 2am or 3am, that sets the system up for the next day. They try to wait until they're sure they're not going to get any more walk-in overnight guests (those with guaranteed reservations are already charged, so there's no issue with those folks). The process takes a significant amount of time at some hotels -- a couple of hours even, and check-ins during that period are often problematic or have to be re-done by hand after the turnover.

So, while they are probably able to check folks in by 4am or 5am, I believe most hotels push that out to 6am or 7am, at least verbally, just in case their turnover process take longer than usual.

My understanding is you can check in starting at 6 am but may not get the room until 4 pm or even after. At MN or so, you will need to pay for the night whether it's on site or off.

The earliest that I have ever checked in was 5:30 am. I was able to get my room immediatley, which was a nice surprise.

Good luck with your plans!

Official earliest check-in time is 7 a.m. The hotels will let you check-in earlier than that if someone is there to do it. That 5:30 check-in mentioned above was the hotel exercising discretion because if check-in is before 6 they can charge you for the night before. Also, until 3 or 4 p.m. (depending on the hotel), which are the stated check-in times, there is no guarantee that you will actually get a room if you check-in -- you might only get check-in process done with room to come later.
