Can you catch a bus to a park that is closed or closing?

I know that's a weird question, but I'm still trying to work out transportation after the Hoop Dee Doo on 10/30. MK closes at 6pm and we won't be out of HDD until 9 or so. Would it be possible to catch a buse from FW to Epcot and transfer there even though Epcot closes at 9? If I can't avoid the DTD transfer I'll probably end up cancelling HDD due to transportation.

Why not consider parking your car at the resort? I doubt you will be able to more than catch the monorail to the contemp. and walk to the parking lot at MK. There is no transportation to a park that is closed.

Once the park closes... busses will no longer pick up for that park. They will put "SPECIAL" up on thier destination signs.

Don't they have busses to the resorts after the Hoop Dee Doo late show? They did years ago.

Where do the "Special" buses go?:)

Gail, we aren't renting a car. Really, other than this weird Hoop Dee Doo thing, we won't need one.;)

jennymouse,

this is probably a silly question, but I've read a number of other posts about the Hoop Dee Doo thingy and I'm wondering what on earth is it?

DW and I are going to WDW Oct. 17-25. Is this something we should see?

Thanks!

They used to. Why they got rid of them, I have no clue. Although, if my suspisions are correct, something may be in place sometime in the future.

"Special" is just the general sign that we put up when we are just dropping off only. Disney doesn't want to have "Drop Off Only" or "Not In Service" because they feel that it would take away from the Disney feel. Personally, folks that come from places that have transportation systems think that Special busses do go somewhere, and so they always try and get on board. I really do wish we had a "Not In Service" sign... *shrug*

Gail & KathyR,

Thanks for the links and the explanation! It sounds like fun! I'll do a search of the other boards and see what kind of guest reviews it has.

Over on the Restaurants Board they've talked me out of cancelling my HDD ressie. I'll just have to bring some cash with me for the taxi. I'm mainly worried about coming out of the show a little tipsy from the pitchers of beer and having to deal with all the bus switching. I'd hate to get us lost or stranded somewhere.....and my bladder is the size of a peanut.

Check to see if there is a MNSSHP going on at MK that nite, that goes until 11 or so, so there should be buses running. They may not be doing it every nite.

We went to HDD last November, and we took a bus to MK, then the boat to HDD (Fort Wilderness). By luck everything was perfect, we walked to the bus stop and the bus pulled up, got off at MK, walked over to the dock and the boat was loading up. Took a half hour for the trip. Coming back was a little wait for boats and busses, but MK was still open and we went in for a short while as well.
