Can you bring food off a ship? See below for context.

My daughter has celiac disease. While on the ship she will be fine, I worry about the relative lack of food options in MCO and certainly to purchase on the plane.
Can she bring food like a GF sandwich, or even packaged foods off the ship into Port Canaveral?

I could be mis-remembering but I don’t remember our carryon luggage being x-rayed on the way off the ship on debarkation day. I know we had opened packages of snacks in our carryon luggage when we left the ship as we hadn’t finished all our snacks and had a day of travel before us.

On our last cruise on Icon, the crew told me we were not allowed to bring food off aside from bags of chips. Our carry on luggage was not xrayed or searched when disembarking in Miami.

I'm confused. Is the OP asking if it's allowed, NO. If they'll be caught, probably not. Bags aren't routinely screened.

What happens if your caught. Assume membership in Glibal Entry or any similar program will be canceled. That might be a bigger deterrent then a possible fine and slap on the wrist

There are plenty of gf options at MCO. Our celiac daughter flies there about 12 times a year. No issues finding something to eat.

Even though there are no bag inspections for carryons when getting off the ship, are there not dogs roaming though (or at least the possibility) that might smell unpackaged food?

I'm GUESSING, even if one brings food they shouldn't and is caught, you're just going to be asked to dispose of it. I doubt there's going to be a fine, or GE (or similar) program cancellation.

OP, how are you getting to MCO? If rental car or private shuttle, if necessary, can you make a stop at a store (either in PC or Orlando) to get what's needed?

Bringing food is a CBP violation. Posters on other boards had their global entry canceled. A traveler demonstrated an unwillingness to know and follow entry rules. Such a person isn't entitled to use expedited entry procedures.

Edited to add Assume being given an "official" warning, written or oral, may be enough to get in the system. The agent at the port isn't likely to pull your GE on the spot. The system might do it automatically.

I mention this because jail or even a nominal fine isn't likely. Closing GE, if you have it, is a bigger deal then a nominal fine

If you say so.

Can you share suggestions beyond the restaurant in the Hyatt? I read Chik fil A, Moe's and Chipotle have options but have to look at their websites to see what is safe to order. We will be flying out of terminal B (gates 30-59 and gates 70-99).

We booked the cruise line's shuttle from port to MCO.

Not only will they revoke Global Entry for the violator, they have been know to revoke Global Entry for everyone else in the same household, even if they are not traveling that same trip, because one person in the household got caught breaking a US Customs and Border Protection rule.

Global Entry can also be revoked if you get arrested, totally unrelated to travel or customs.

It can even be revoked if you don't break any rules or get arrested, if you frequently visit "high risk" countries. There is no listed definition by the government that will result it your membership being revoked but people have surmised visiting a country on a US sanctions list, frequent trips to countries at war, or long stays in countries thought to be hostile to the US.

It is very much a program with one strike and you are out with very few exceptions. It is after all a Trusted Traveler program. You are trusted to know and follow the rules.

I personally wouldn't risk bringing food off the ship back into the US.

Here is a good starting point to try and determine if what you want to import into the US will be allowed.

Remember that even if you bought it in the US, you left the US on the cruise and are now importing it into the US.

We have never had any issues with:
Jersey Mikes - they will charge gloves and get meat, cheese and toppings from a different source and they have gf bread

Chick fil a - grilled nuggets, waffle fries (always confirm dedicated fryer), fruit

Chipotle - rice bowl, certain meats, they will get from a dedicated source

Most sit downs will accommodate - cask and larder you can get a cburger no bun and salad

Lots of store options with chips, etc
