Hi!
We just got a Little Mermaid Raft yesterday at the Dosney Store for my daughter and she wants to pack it and bring it to Disney World. It sprays water and she wants to use it at th epool. Does anyone know do they allow floats or rafts in the pools at the resort?
Thanks,
PammyPoppins

I don't know about the pools, but at the water parks the only flotation devices allowed which we do not provide are water wings, lifejacket type shirts or other similar items which are firmly attached to the wearer. For infants/toddlers they can use a ring that has a solid bottom with leg holes which allow them to sit up, and these can only be used in the lazy river and a parent must be in a tube right next to them.

People can bring anything in, but tubes, balls, noodles, boards or any other flotation devices are not permitted in the water.

We stayed at CBR for 9 days in May & my kids were allowed to use the inflatable swim rings we brought from home. (These are the big 36 inch kind). They had a blast with them!!

Generally speaking, no.

Anything not clear is an absolute no-no. Most of the pools just get too full for rafts and floats and such.

And personally, I would be upset if I was hit with water spraying from someone's raft. Things like that have no place in a public pool.

:confused3 I guess that the best thing to do would be to call the resort and ask to speak with the Recreation Director or Supervisor. He/she would be able to tell you the resort's policy. Hope this helps!

Anne,
I am with you firmly! At Allstar Sports, I was carrying my 2yo around in the pool, and got injured by a kid with a float. It was so crowded in that pool, I couldn't believe anyone let him bring it in, even if it was "Allowed." Of course, of all the adults rushing over to hold dd before I dropped her (my shoulder was hurt), none were the kid's parents. The lifeguard told the kid the float is not allowed in the pool, he took it out for a while then put it back in. Felt bad when a child (maybe 10 yrs old) got hit next.

A float in a pool filled with people is dangerous. A child can easily get pushed underneath the float where no one can see them and the panic of being in that situation could cause that child to drown. A swim ring attached to a child is different and also doesn't take up so much space.---Kathy
