Hi, I have read so many positive reviews of Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort on Trip Advisor and would like to stay there this December. I found the telephone number for the resort and when I called the front desk agent gave me an 800 number for reservations. When asking more questions about the resort, she asked if I was a Fairfield member and when I said no she said I was not allowed to book..:confused3

On Trip Advisor there is a link to both Expedia and Hotels.com that allow you to book reservations with this resort. After what the girl just told me I am not feeling comfortable about booking. Can anyone advise??

Our travel dates are December 6th-9th and would love a 2-BR unit. The availibility shows a rate of $246/night. It seems like a fantastic deal. I just do not want to get there and they tell me they will not honor the reservation since I am not a member.

Thanks for your help!!:santa:

don't worry. lots of timeshares use expedia and hotels to book their access inventory. this includes marriott and disney.

bonnet creek is still expanding - so they might have some extra.

you might look at

www.hotelmartusa.com

they did have some Disney ones - so maybe fairfield (not Wynham)

They've officially changed the resort name to Wyndham Bonnet Creek. RCI has not caught up yet, so they still call it Fairfield. Rentals may be made through any reservation service that has developer inventory which has been assigned to them for this purpose as well as through any Fairfield/Wyndham points owner who is willing to rent out a reservation. It's permitted. :) Enjoy your stay there!

Thanks for your replies. I feel much better now. I have a reservation currently booked at the Grande Vista Marriott but have read better reviews about Wydham Bonnett Creek. I like the proximity to Disney too!!

Too bad we can't post Orlando area rental/trades here like they do on the DVC-Rent/Trade forum.

I just exchanged this years extra FF/WYN points over to RCI while I could have rented to people here for Bonnet Creek, Cypress Palms. etc.

go join tug - you can definitely do last minute rentals there.

Wyndham Bonnett Creek is a new property.

Part of the Marriott Grande Vista is new - but part is old. they got some very bad reviews when they were ignoring guests request to cleans the halls - we got told the buildings would be rehab - that was a BIG problem for a while.

that say Marriott Grande Vista is a marriott and has more benefits and activities than Wyndham has.

It has wine tasting (which I loved) for $5 per person. (sign up early) It also has other activties for adults!!!

most places have activities for kids - but the marriott also has alots of activities for adults.

if you go with the Marriott - demand either a new villa or rehab one. if you are renting you will probably get what you want.

people who exchange have to take what they give.

forgot just remember that RCI has a no rent rule for its members. So if they catch you renting a resort you got through them. You will be banned for a period of time.

there is a lot on the tug board about them doing that too.

We stayed at Bonnet Creek in February and it was really wonderful. The location is awesome and the rooms are all new with a beautiful pool area. We have stayed at a ton of resorts in Orlando over the years and this one had to be one of the nicest.

We rented through a private owner at www.vacationtimesharerentals.com. Maybe someone there would have a week for you.

I think you will be able to rent a week for less than $240 a week that way unless it is a prime holiday week.

Hope this helps.

OMG! I'm an idiot. I meant to type $240 a night...that was around what she was quoted. SORRY!!!!

If it was a week, I'd be booking 12 weeks there! LOL

we are at BC now. We rented through the above named site, pd 140 for a 2 bed for three nights. I think we could have went less though. Ton of activities for the kids, I love this place. We have watched Illuminations every night from our balcony. We will be back in Sept. FWIW-be very cautious if you do the tour, extremely high pressure. Have a great trip:thumbsup2

Tour? To get that good rate did you have to agree to that? I'm definitley not all about something like that...but love the rate you're getting! Please tell me more! Is there transportation to WDW..or did you rent a car?? thanks.

I have the same frustration as NHLFAN. I often have some Wyndham/Fairfield points left-over that I end up depositing to RCI or renting to other FF owners. I'd much rather be able to help out folks here on DIS, but unless you own DVC, there is no way to do it on the boards here.

Bonnet Creek is coming up more frequently on ebay now for some very good prices. I would only use someone who is SquareTrade verified, who is covered by Paypal, has good feedback, and I would only use a credit card (for extra protection).

well if you could use your points with II and get a DVC unit you could.
Not unless you are feeling overly charitable. II has been known to cancel accounts of exchangers found to be renting out their units for anything beyond the GC fee.

I know many people rent out their II/RCI exchanges, but that's a risk I would never be willing to take.

We recently spent 5 nights at Bonnet Creek in a 2 bedroom. I bought it on ebay from a seller with perfect feedback. We paid $700 for 5 nights and everything was great. We DID NOT have to attend a tour but they did call us about 3 times asking us to do a tour and also asked us at check in. We politely said no thanks.

Wyndham resorts charge approximately double points for Friday and Saturday nights, just like DVC does. So, a Sunday-Thursday stay is your best bet for getting a good price.

We rented points from DH's friend at work who owns timeshare, we're paying $1500 for a week in the 4BR Presidentual suite. 3 families going with a total of 8 ppl so it comes out to $500 a week per family. Never stayed off site while visiting WDW so this will be a first for us. Pictures of the 4BR are gorgeous and having 4 br and 4 baths will be lovely :)

We'll be totally relying on the shuttle service and cab service, it will be a "wing-it" trip for us :rotfl:
