IMO, everything is fair game. It is not the SELLERS that make the item "sellable" it is the BUYERS.
There is nothing wrong with selling free items. Whether they be readily availlable currently or 10 years old. If someone does not know how to obtain the item, then by selling it you are, in effect, doing the buyer a "service." A lot of the time it takes effort to get "free" things. I spend quite a bit of time on freebie sites. And it does take time and effort to collect the "freebies."
Personally I will continue to list/sell my "freebies" if I think there might be a market for it. If there isn't a market the items won't sell. If there is a market, then IMO it is a win/win situation. The buyer gets the item they want and I, as the seller, make a few bucks.
Also a lot of the time it is easier for someone to just go on the internet / ebay and search and find the item and buy it then to do the work of looking into other means. I know my mom is that way. She will spend the extra money then to have to go out looking for an item.
