Can you bank points twice in one year?

Can you bank points twice in one year......? Just out of curiosity...

I have 270 points with a March use year. If I bank 135 points before September, can I bank the other 135 before November in the event we don't take an October trip. Hope this makes sense....

Your question makes sense, and you could technically bank 20 times in a year if you wanted to... you just can't do what you want to do.

With a March UY, your banking deadlines are as follows:

100% - 8/31
50% - 11/30
25% - 12/31

So, before 9/1, you can bank all 270 points, but on your second date, you can only bank up to 50% of your points - 135 points. Banking is cumulative. That means that they count previously banked points in your total.

My suggestion would be that if your not sure you will make an October trip, and your not making the reservation ahead of time, that you bank all of the points by 8/31. Then if you decide to make a last minute reservation, you can "borrow" your banked points for the reservation. Good luck!

You can bank 100% of all points by Sept1. You can bank 50% of your total after Sept, so if you bank only 135 by then, you have already banked 50%. You would have to bank them BEFORE September.

Thanks - I think this makes sense - if I use 135 points I can still wait until November 30 to bank the other 135?

A little confused though HookdonWDW - I thought once the points were banked I couldn't borrow them back into the use year. Wouldn't I have to borrow next year's points...?

Yes.

You are correct - once points are banked or borrowed, they must stay in the use year that they were borrowed into or banked into.

In your case, you would have to borrow 2004 points.
