Can you assign Magic band to someone else?

Hi,
I was wondering if you can change the name a magic band is linked to if you are the owner of the MDE account?

We have the Magic bands of this year's trip, but next year instead of grandpa and DH, grandma 2 and Auntie are going, can I just change the name of who the band belongs to and then link to a new ticket?
We will be staying at the Swan/Dolphin, so we won't get new magic bands

I can always purchase 2 new ones....

No. I have several magic bands so I wanted to give one to my mom & we couldn't. She had to buy her own.

You can go into the Profile section and Edit the names to Grandma and Aunt.

Link the new tickets to these newly named Profiles and you can book FPs. The MB can be used at the entrances and the FP tapstiles. Because the tickets are new, the new fingerscans get linked to the database.

They can't be switched to a new Profile or another MDE, but, the Profile names can be changed and the MBs can be used.

Yes, the only way to do it is change the names on the profile. Bands cannot be removed from a profile so that they can be switched to another MDX account.

It seems easier to just to use the ones in your package and bag the old ones.

I was under the impression that you could have them re-assigned to somebody on your MDX account by Guest Services.

Yes. All names can be Edited, even the account holders name.

As long as a new ticket is linked, the system adds the new person's finger scan to link to that specific ticket.

in my acct- there is no option to edit anything- if i click on the currently unused one, it only gives me an option for deactivating....

Go into Profile and edit the names of the people who are listed. You don't edit the MagicBands. They remain where they are linked.

Technically, you don't even have to change the name. Just link the new ticket and a new biometric scan will get linked when you enter the park for the first time.

Changing a name is very easy but isn't really necessary.

I am confused.... so I have a MB from last trip that is named 'Bob'- but I want 'Jim' to use it on my next trip- I have already bought and input 'Jims' ticket into MDE- could 'Jim' just use the mb that has 'Bob's name attached,and scan that with his ticket at the gate and use it?

Yes, because you are hesitant to go in and Edit out Bob's name and change it to Jim. Just let Jim use it.

wow.... well I guess it can't hurt to try..... so you're saying the MB will automatically link to 'Jims' ticket? "bob' doesn't have a current ticket for this trip

You have to link the new ticket to where Jim-Bob is located and the MB will provide the link to it.
