Can we visit the Animal Kingdom Lodge and see animals?

We've never stayed on-property, so our stay at All Star Music will be our first resort to visit. I was wondering if it was possible for us to visit the AKL, even though we're not staying there. Would we be able to see any animals like guests who stay there can?

Sure you can visit! We saw some animals last year when we visited..

We had dinner at Boma, and although we were not staying there, we walked around and looked at the animals after dinner.

We went for dinner one night. The far end of the beautiful lobby opens to a sort of peninsula called Arusha Rock that juts out into the savanna, and there are plenty of spots where you can walk and observe the wildlife.

Absolutely! A nice bonus is that AKL has awesome Christmas decorations. Have a great time.

Yeah of course you can! It might be a nice idea to have a meal there as well, both Boma's and Jiko's are lovely, you can really take in the resort then!

We booked dinner at Boma's last trip & explored the resort once we were finished. The kids definitely enjoyed seeing the animals more than the food - it was a struggle to keep DS in the restaurant with us. He just wanted to see the animals!

The CM at the overlook was very nice & helped DS find some of the smaller animals. This was a highlight of our trip.

I had breakfast at Boma last Tuesday. Was done around 10:00am. We went outside and there were no animals, the cm working at the savannah said they were being fed back in the barn. So don't go in the morning.

That is what we did this past Jan. we went to AKL to have a look around. We ended up not only viewing the animals, but also eating lunch at the Mara and having a drink at the pool bar. We fell in love with the resort! We are now staying there this coming Jan. that is how much we liked it there!

Thanks for the info, that sounds like fun! I hope we have time for a visit. Anyone know what times are best for animal viewing?
