Can we use Rider Swap for 7 year old tall enough for Guardians?

My 7 year old son went on TOT at WDW and the drops were too much for him. From what I've read, Guardians is even more intense in terms of drops. Even I'm a little uneasy, but I want to experience it at least once.

Will they allow us to do rider swap so my 9 year old and my husband and I can ride? If so, if we are using FP's where can we get the ride swap?

TIA!

Absolutely. Rider swap is for any age. If you have a FP, when you get to the CM at the FP line bring everyone in your party, explain that you need a rider switch pass, point out who's riding and who's not, and that person will give you the rider switch pass.

I wouldn't bet on that working. In the parks it's meant for people who don't meet the height requirements.

Like a store return policy, bring the statement direct from the source, https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/rider-switch/

"If a Guest doesn’t meet the boarding requirements or doesn’t wish to experience a particular attraction, it’s not a problem for family and friends who do!"

It says or doesn't wish to experience...so I would think it should be fine.

Exactly - have the policy saved and ready to pull up and politely show a CM if you have any trouble.

Or just grab two FPs and ride one after the other. Then you avoid a possible later RS return time that's not convenient.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Getting FP's for everyone makes sense too. I just give my 9 year old the 7 year old's ticket and we can ride together. Duh! Thanks.

I just did this a couple days ago. My son wanted to ride it but my 6 year old...no way. We just pulled 4 FP and my husband and son went first and then my son and I went again. Sometimes even the FP return line can be extreme so you'd have to assess the return line and make sure it'd be doable to complete in that one hour window. Whoever wasn't riding the ride took my daughter into Bug's Land and/or browsed the gift shop in the exit of Guardians. It worked out really well, actually.

We did it last month with 5 y/o that was tall enough to ride. They made us do "at the elevator" swap. Half the party rode while the other half waited in grouping area. Then, child was swapped in hallway after first half came off, as second half of party was loading.

Is there anyway to see the queue and then leave? my tall enough 7 year old and my DH want to see the queue but both don't want to ride!

Yes, there’s a “chickened out” exit, so they can even go in and see the Rocket part in the room and then bail out before the elevators.
