I want to create papercraft magnets. Where do you find patterns and what do you use to create your papercraft magnets? Any pictures of magnets you've created would be appreciated and pointing me towards some websites would also be appreciated.

**I've had personalized jpegs made before from artists like Lady B, but I'm looking for something different this go around. Thanks!

Not sure what "papercraft magnets" are, but I just look around on the Creative DISigns board and save images that I like. Also just do a google search for an image that I'm interested in and see if anyone has something out there on the internet.

Then I might do some tweaking of the image using Paint, or Word. I print on photo paper, cut out image, put cutouts on adhesive magnetic sheets and cut out again.

You can also print directly on to special magnetic "paper". I got mine at Staples a few years ago.

So, papercraft if when you use paper to create the art rather than print out another design. Again, I don't have anything against that, but I have a bunch of that type of magnets. Papercraft magnets would tend to use layers of paper and be more dimensional than printing a flat picture. Not that the magnets would stick out off the door necessarily, but they would be more handcrafted than many of the magnets in picture you posted. Does that make sense?

OK, then, I can't help you.

More like scrapbooking? I bet there are tons of Disney stuff on scrapbooking sites. Just put a magnet behind it.

Do you have a cricut? I have used that to make some cool, multi-layered Disney images (for scrapbooking).

I am not having much luck trying to make my own door magnets for our next cruise this April and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a website that has good magnet designs?

I make mine on word. I find clip art I like and then add text boxes to personalize them. Once I print them I laminate them, cut them leaving about an inch of the laminating, rough up the back with a sanding sponge and place them on adhesive magnet paper. I then use an exacto knife to cut them the magnet paper to size. I know it sounds like a lot of work and maybe confusing but it becomes a family project and helps mark the cruise count down.

I didn't think about roughing up the laminate. What do you use? Some of my magnets were coming off and I was thinking of hotgluing them, but I hate to do that when the sticky stuff is 'supposed' to be enough.

This is a scrap page I did with the cricut. They both start with the black layer, then the other colored paper is put on top.

I have used both a sanding sponge and fine grit sand paper, either work well. You want to go very light. We used the same idea to personalize a card for the lighting control. When we are out of the room the magnet paper holds it to the wall.
