can we start a new "ARE THERE ANY SINGLE DISNEY MEN OUT THERE" thread?

Hi, I am a swf, 45, from extreme se MI (there is about 50 miles south of Detroit before Ohio). I have 2 boys at home 8 & 3. I just went on my first solo trip to WDW in Dec.'06 and it was ok. We are going as a family again in June '07. My favorite park is EPCOT and my least favorite is MGM. My grand passion is music and if it's Disney music - perfection! I would love to have a copy of the orchestration from POC II autographed by the composer:hippie: .

I go to Disney all the time. I have annual passes that we renewed in December. We have already been there at least 12 times. I like the trip now rather than when we flew from WA state. I have been to dismates and never see anyone on. Too many of us women to the number of men.

and I play nice...

43yo F from ct. (two kids 15 and 16) Going to try and log on to chat, sounds like this is the place to play with some nice disney folks....

dismates.com chat is generally around 9pm... but.. sometimes earlier and can go on for a couple hours or more... feel free to join in. There is a secret to loggin in though.. dont log in!!! go to dismates.com and scroll down to where you see the word chat. its around where it has info about memberships.

Midge- your trip to DW was just OK..wow I don't think I could ever think of any trip to the world as just ok....hopefully your next trip will be FANTASTIC girl!
Hello from a fellow Michiganer!!!!!!

The trip was just too weird without my kids. I have been a mom since I was 18 and am very "lost" without my kids. I'm having a difficult time switching from "mom" to "woman". It may have something to do with burying 2 of my children in less than 3 years. It's something I have to work through, but it would be nice to have someone help.:hippie:

I know what you mean about switching from mom to woman, I'm going to try hard to get down to the World with a friend of mine here and the boys will stay at home. Even though they will be 18 and 19 at the time, we have always gone together, so kind of weird to leave them behind. I tend to feel guilty because we have always done so much together, esp since divorcing years ago, we have been the best of friends, so I understand how hard it is to switch gears. I am sorry to hear about your losses, it must be hard at times. I hope your next visit to the World is ultra magical Midge! :grouphug:

Single Father of a 7 yr old son,I'm a 31yr old Firefighter, who loves Disney. I go 2 times a year and still can't get enough.

Hi!

I'm a 27yo swf from Philadelphia.... Have a trip planned in June and hoping to find someone to go with me.....

1) Which park is your favorite? MGM followed very closely by MGM

2) Which is your least favorite park? Animal Kingdom

3) What is your favorite ride? Tower of Terror and Everest

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Don't know that that has ever happend :)

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I went at Halloween and loved it. My favorite place to stay is OKW or Port Orleans FQ.

Hey Disneyfan719:

Is Voorhees, NJ close enough for ya? I admit to being more than slightly older. LOL

Jim

Okay, my turn to jump in! :)

My real name is Debbie (a huge difference from my DIS name, right?), and I'm a 26-year-old SWF from Southern NJ (Cape May County for those of you from Voorhees!). I'm an Elementary School teacher (I'm bouncing between some long-term substitute positions, and I'm hoping to have something permanent in September).

1) Which park is your favorite? Epcot, hands down. Much more adult-oriented, which is why it's my favorite.

2) Which is your least favorite park? Honestly, I can't say that I have a least favorite.

3) What is your favorite ride? Tie between Splash Mountain and Soarin'.

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Rock-n-Roller Coaster.

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I love traveling to WDW during Flower and Garden Festival (Memorial Day weekend) and New Year's (I know, I know, the most crowded time of year, but I love it!!).

Wow, there are lots of us single teachers out there! I wonder why....lol. Do you find it is harder to meet people with such a hectic career? I know my life seems consumed with planning, constructing, grading, e-mailing, etc. I think it takes a special kind to date a teacher. :teacher: We are quite the bunch!

Debi: I know Cape May County only from going to Wildwood, NJ with my first ex-girlfriend in the summers of 2001 and 2002. We took Delsea Drive (Route 47) all the way from Pennsauken, passing Rio Grande before hitting the causeway to the Wildwoods.

DisTeach: I know that there are a lot of teachers on these boards. I've never dated one, but I don't have anything against teachers. Because I don't drive, I find it far easier to stay home than to date.

Jim

here is yet another single teacher, hmmmm. it is quite interesting. i'm 35, live in jackson, nj. no kids, no debt, and no time for drama. LOL :) i loooove disney, own dvc, and am dying for a trip next month but don't have any friends as into disney as me. what is wrong with those people??? they think i'm nuts to love the world so much. oh well, their problem LOL!

Which park is your favorite? I love Epcot the best. Prob followed by MK, then MGM, then AK.

Which is your least favorite park? prob one of the water parks although i've never been ot any of them.

What is your favorite ride? def Soarin', but i love TOT, EE, and POC.

What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? the tea cups!! don't like the spinning...

Where is your favorite time and place to stay. i'll stay anytime, but i love christmas the best. beach club villas are my fave!!

Favorite Place to eat: oh god, i love to eat anywhere, anytime. but i do love the fish n chips in epcot! tradition now to always eat there my first night!

Favorite Place to sit, have a drink and conversation: anywhere with the world showcase in sight if at epcot. with the castle in sight at MK.

In my experience, I've found that Elementary Education is a predominently female profession. The school that I'm in now has only one male teacher out of 30. It's hard to meet men with these types of odds. :) Since I have very little free time, it's hard to go out to meet men in other situations.

Guys quick question. I can't seem to register on dismates, but once I do, how do I send someone a message?

Ah yes, I agree. Luckily, I am high school so we have a bit more to choose from. My dilemma is I work in a huge school in the English department (another primarily female dominated arena) so it is basically the same predicament. My school is fairly new and we have a really young faculty for the most part, but the whole trying-to-find-a-Disney-fanatic amongst the crowd is always a miss. lol I have to keep my Disney conversations between myself, my girlfriends, and the DIS! :dance3:

messages can only be sent if you are a gold or possibly silver member. also, it takes like a day to have your ID processed or whatever it is that is done. Did for me at least.

Sha is right. But if the person you wish to reach is in the chat room, you can send a PM while in the chat room with that person. And you don't need to be a paying member to communicate in the chat room...including PM's in the chat room.:surfweb:

Good point Ddave....

I'm a 40 y/o swm with a 9 y/o. Can't seem to save my profile on dismates. I am a Disney fan and been around 30 times. stayed at FW Campground 8 times in 2 years and addicted to it.
