Can we start a Christmas recommendation thread?

What about the shake and go raceway? I got it for my 2.5 DS and I hope its not too hard for him?

Last question - Amazing Amanda? I am thinking about that for a 7 yr old niece. Worried that it will be hard to find later on. Thoughts?

I am also interested in the T-Rex Mountain. I already purchased it for DS but if the mountain is going to easily fall apart I would rather take back the mountain and just buy him another dinosaur or two since the dinosaurs are the really the big attraction.

Any comments on the Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Home? It looks interesting and I typically like FP toys but it seems like quite a bit of money so I want to make sure it would be worth it. DD will be 11 months at Christmas...how long before she would outgrow it?

Has anyone seen any Diego (the boy "Dora") toys? DS is a big Diego fan but I have not seen anything except more Dora stuff.

another vote for Disney Scene It. We love this game.
By the way there is also a Harry Potter DVD game out now.

Becka- What about this

I looked at the Aquadoodle after hearing about it here and it looks like a lot of fun. My son will be 5 in February. Do ya'll think he's too old for it now?

What about the travel size Aquadoodle. Does anyone have it?

I am curious about roomba's or any of the other robot vacuums. We are thinking of getting one for my mom this Christmas.

My DH's aunt has a Roomba and I looked into getting one about a year ago. Check out Amazon for some in depth reviews. The gyst of the info that I got was that the Roomba did pretty well in large, open spaces with less furniture and no floor clutter. The Roomba bounces off furniture and walls and vacuums in a random pattern -- it can conceivably vacuum for 4 hours (the life of a full battery) and still not have a room "completely" clean. The consensus seemed to be that it was a good product to help maintain clean carpets, but didn't actually replace an occasional vacuum job. If you choose to get the Roomba, you may want to purchase an additional battery and extra marker-things (the sensors that you put up to help keep the Roomba cleaning one room instead of bouncing all over the house).

I decided not to get one because we moved into our current house, which has small rooms and hardwood floors.

We have the large Aquadoodle mat as well as the Pooh, Thomas, and Princess travel Aquadoodles. They are great! My dd who is 5 likes the travel ones best or so I gather because she likes to color more than she likes to draw. We actually keep some of them in my ds' diaper bag so that we have them to pass the time when we go out to dinner. We will be taking them on the plane with us at the end of the month when we head to WDW. There is a new Thomas large mat and each travel pack comes with 4 different pictures to color in. The only travel one that we don't have is Sesame Street. The travel Aquadoodles come with a little Aquadoodle pen.

Anyone know anything about Oh geez, the name just went outta my head! It may be Fly Wheels.....it's a wheel/tire that you pull a thing through and supposedly it jumps over cars and such. Any reviews??

The above is a quote from a previous poster, don't know why it didn't show up right.

My DS11 has played with these things for a year+. He likes to make them go over ramps and race with his brother. They are pretty inexpensive, $6 or $7 I think.

Thank you! Stocking stuffers are now done! :)

Great idea...subscribing just in case I can help out!

Now asking my most embarrassing question..... what does "subscribing" to a thread do for you? Can you read posts offline? Do you have a special way to skip to the newest post? What is it???????

Thanks!

DS6 wanted that shake and go raceway. I thought it might be too easy for him. Anyone have experience??

We love our Roomba! It does a great job of daily pick up. Does NOT replace vacuuming altogether, though. We set it going when we leave the house and it plugs itself back into the charger when it's done. Lovely!

I'd like to know more about the robosapien. Do most kids get bored with it?

I'd like to get an ipod for DD 14, but I am ipod clueless. I want to get the cheapest one in fear that she'll eaither lose it or have it stolen. What do you recommend?

DS4 has the InteractTV, he loves it. He really enjoys being able to actually answer Dora's questions instead of just yelling them out.

What about the new VideoNow? I know it plays games now. Does anyone have one?

Great Idea for a thread. How many people are getting XBOX 360 or waiting for PS3?

My daughter has the cat and a panda bear. Quite honestly, she played with them for about a week after getting them and never touched them again. They are cute but they really didn't hold her interest. Plus, they are not cuddly because of the inner working parts.

For all of the Scene It fans...we have the TV edition which is pretty fun, and the kids have the Junior edition and the Disney edition. All are great games. I noticed that they have a Music and a Sports edition out this year. I'm sure they'll end up under our Christmas tree.

My DS3 wants EVERYTHING he sees on Toon Disney commercials. Has anyone seen the cars where you draw a line with a marker and the cars follow it? Does anyone have this?

What about the slushie maker? Too much trouble or what??

Ok, I sure could use some help. I'm looking for a CHEAP MP3 player that is also good and easy to use. No IPod. This is for a 13 year old so I wouldn't rule-out the possibility of it being lost or stolen. When he's older, we can consider spending the big bucks on electronics that are portable. Sony has one and there's another by Creative Labs called the Zen Nano (that actually had good reviews on Amazon.com)

Santa is bringing the whole family a computer. I am clueless when it comes to hardware. I'd love for someone to just tell me what to buy :teeth:

I just wanted to bump this and to throw out a suggestion/question?

I ma considering buying the Disney MP3player retailing for $49.99 for my DD(9) for Xmas. Of course, she wants a iPod but I would not consider it for her age and for the same reasons listed above. My question has anyone tested the Disney version? I am certain that I will have to upgrade the memory...does anyone know how much that will cost?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Uh oh, bad news for me. How old is your daughter?

I already got it but what about the IPOD Mini? Does it work with music off bearshare or other P2P things? Or just the music for ITUNES? How easy is it to load the songs?
