Can we purchase a small resale if we are not current DVC owners?

Yep, no problem. Disney only has a minimum for points they will sell you. They don't have a minimum requirement for ownership.

However, small resales are in high demand and relatively short supply - they often don't even hit the web sites of the resellers. So your best bet is to call the resellers and let them know what you are looking for. You may pay more per point on a small resale.

I'm in the process of selling a 75 point contract and a 100 point contract. The 75 pt contract was advertised for less than 24 hours when the TTS had a buyer for it. The 100 point contract was a few days longer before they had a buyer for that one. I got my asking price for one and only $2 a point less for the other. I'm paying the dues for the last two months of this year.

If you want a smaller resale, you need to be in contact with a resale seller and ask to be contacted when a contract that fits your needs comes on the market. Give them your cell, your home phone and work phone if you really want that smaller contract.

We only have a 100 point contract at BWV that we bought resale.

We are very happy. You do have to be a little more careful with banking, borrowing, and changing reservations, as you have a smaller margin of error, but well worth it.

I do think that owning fewer than 50 points could be a hassle.
